World Teachers’ Day is special to me because I’ve been fortunate to experience education in countries and cultures around the world.
I’ve walked into schools thousands of miles apart. I’ve met educators who speak different languages, teach in very different systems, and face very different challenges.
But one thing never changes: the heart of a teacher.

No matter where I go, teachers care deeply about their students. They want them to succeed. They believe in their potential. They give more of themselves than most people will ever realize, often without the recognition or support they deserve.

Different countries. Different cultures. Different classrooms. But that same heart.

That’s one of the greatest things traveling the world has taught me about education.
Teachers everywhere want to make a difference in the life of a child.
So today, on World Teachers’ Day, I celebrate all of you. Those I’ve had the privilege of meeting and the millions I never will.
Thank you for continuing to show up, continuing to believe, and continuing to make a difference.
Love what you teach, but love WHO you teach more.

October is dyslexia awareness month!

Did you know dyslexia affects 15-20% of the population in some form?

For educators, this means we all have students, or have had students, in our classrooms with identified and unidentified dyslexia.
🦋
For parents, this means that our children aren’t alone in their journey, and neither are you.
🦋
Part of my mission is to help people better understand dyslexia, dispel myths, and connect reading science research to classroom practice.
