Thank you to every single one of you who stopped by our booth at the Kitsap County Fair! This annual tradition is key to connecting to our community about all things fungi. We hope we were able to answer your fungal curiosities and inform you about our upcoming engagements!

Also, a very special shout out to every KPMS member who volunteered their time and enthusiasm, and John, Mary, and Bill for being our trusty Fair Superintendents.

In total: 34 KPMS members volunteered, we handed out just over 900 handouts, and we connected to an estimated 2000 fair goers! Did you stop by our booth? Let us know what you learned!

Hello, everyone! I'm overjoyed to invite you to my continuing education classes this fall! I'm so grateful for this opportunity to share my enthusiasm and knowledge about the fantastic fungal kingdom and the importance of understanding and appreciating all the life that we live with!

I will be instructing two separate non-credited classes, each only one session.

If you're interested in brushing up on your fungal knowledge before KPMS's annual Wild Mushroom Show on November 1, I will present basic fungi facts, identification skills, and familiarize you with a multitude of notable local species in Fungi 101. I'm excited to answer all your fungal curiosities!
This class is fully online, Wednesday October 28 from 6 - 7 PM

Next, on Wednesday November 4 I will be teaching Intro to iNaturalist, which is how to use the leading tool in community science to rekindle your reconnection to the land and life around you. You can use it to identify plants, fungi, insects, and any other form of life that interests you! I'll show you the ins and outs of navigating the app and website, how to take useful identification photos, and how to use iNat's amazing database to find the life you want to, from Morels and Chanterelles, to medicinal plants and migratory birds.
The class is in-person at the Bremerton OC Campus from 6 - 8 PM.

I'm honored and over the moon that I'm working with Olympic College to engage my wonderful community about the wonderful life and environment around us! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mushroom Wonderland workshop/forays are back this fall for the 6th season. Join me for an afternoon of education, foraging, taste testing, and getting to know each other. This is such a fun event, most of them take place on a monday, so make a 3-day weekend of it and come join me in mushroom Wonderland. Sign up on the website or use the QR code.
