Child Care Extended Closure
This weekend the trustees of the church and school discovered that one of the water mains had sprung a large leak. Thankfully there is no structural damage to our campus as the leak is somewhere under the sidewalk and parking lot. The leak exists in a line that provides water to the child care center. The water to that building has been shut off. Monday there is a crew coming to identify the source of the leak and begin digging up the sidewalk and parking lot to mend it. Right now there is no running water to our center and extensive digging that needs to happen in the parking lot and side walk. We are keeping our child care center closed for at least this week as we address this challenge.
This means that there is no before or after school care for our preschool through fourth grade students. Our fifth through eighth grade students still have before and after school care. They use a different space than the child care center.
I understand the challenge this places on families as we return from school. We are praying that the crew coming to address this can move swiftly and without additional problems. I hope to have updates and more specifics to give after the professionals break ground and really see what's happened.
Week 16 at Peace Lutheran School. Can you tell the students are holding it together to Christmas? There are many things happening around Peace this week.

Hey Peace Lutheran Families,
We just started week two of school! Let’s take a second to shout out to the staff and faculty at Peace Lutheran! Share with us who at Peace you are thankful for in these first few days of the 2021-2022 school year!
Don’t forget no school tomorrow, Monday, September 6th!
Our teachers are so excited for your arrival in the morning! Don’t forget school starts tomorrow!
This morning, our teachers kicked off the school year at the 8:00 am church service where Pastor Brynestad dedicated them to their professions and their service at Peace Lutheran School and Church. We are so blessed to have this amazing group of people teaching, loving, and supporting our kids! They are such an amazing, dedicated group of professionals and they are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of their students tomorrow!
And that’s a wrap on our school year!! It was a crazy year and it looked a lot different than typical! But thanks to a concerted effort of teachers, staff, parents, and students we made it! To God be the glory for His guidance and protection! We can now proudly say that we made it through the year, with ZERO positive COVID cases in our students, staff, or teachers!
Thank you families! Thanks you staff and teachers!! Thank you Father for your grace and provision!
Happy summer Bobcat family!! See you in August!
How’s field day going today??? Hot dog success!! Thank you, Mr. Art, for cooking a million hot dogs for our kiddos! We appreciate all that our staff and faculty are doing to make this crazy school year as memorable as possible!!
Don’t forget!!! This week is the week that we show our teachers our appreciation for them!! Here’s the schedule for the week!! Let’s shower our teachers with love!!
Staff Appreciation Themed Days:
Monday: A special NOTE from your student or family to their teacher...what do you appreciate about them or especially like about their classroom?? Words can be so encouraging!!
Tuesday: Let's all wear red today. It is National Staff Appreciation Day, May 4th.
Wednesday: Bring your teacher an apple. We all know teachers love apples.
Thursday: A special little TREAT on your teachers desk to get them through the day! Are they a coffee, tea or soda drinker? Do they have a favorite treat like chocolate, nuts, chips, popcorn or candy? Bless them with a small little token!!
Friday: How about SOMETHING PERSONAL from each family for your special teacher? A little plant, a small gift card, a book for their classroom, a homemade project, a coloring sheet that your child has made special...it's up to you!
If you get your temperature checked in the morning drive-thru then you know Mr. Art. Tomorrow is his birthday and I thought it would be a nice surprise for him to hear "Happy Birthday" from all of you as you come through in the morning.
Thank you,
Rita
Did you travel out of state?? The guidellines if you leave the state: "Upon your return you must quarantine for 14 days at home, unless you go and get tested AFTER YOU RETURN HOME. As soon as you hear back the negative results of your test you are welcome to come back." Thank you to the many families who have already sent me the results of your tests. We appreciate so very much that you are keeping us all safe and most importantly keeping Peace Lutheran School open. Please if you or someone in your family is not feeling well stay home until you are sure it is not COVID. With cases on the rise again our teachers are going to be taking extra precautions, cleaning, sanitizing, and social distancing to make sure we stay open.
Pizza Hut for lunch Monday and Friday this week.
We pray that you enjoyed your week off and you send your kids back eager to learn and ready to finish this school year. We have eight weeks left until summer break.
Blessings,
Mr. Sawyer and Rita

Just to inform you all, School is in session and on time for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16th!! The roads throughout much of the county are clear and wet and we will be in school tomorrow!
As always, if you feel you cannot safely make it to school, please simply call and let the office know that your student will be absent!
See you in the morning!
Good morning!
We have gotten many questions and we are sorry for assuming that people would know that no message means we are in session.
We are open and on schedule for school today! As always, if you do not feel it would be safe to bring your children to school please do not risk it! Just let us know in the office that your child will be absent today!
Thank you and stay safe!
Praise God!! The COVID test results are back and they are NEGATIVE! Children and staff will return to campus tomorrow, Monday, January 25th! Thank you to our Father for providing us with healthy results! We can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember to stay home if your child or anyone in your home is feeling ill or having any symptoms. Staying home when experiencing any symptoms helps Peace stay open to do what we do best. We look forward to a full week back at school! We know sometimes it is a hard decision. If you’re unsure, play it safe and stay home! It is better to have one or two children stay home as a precaution, than have to have 200 kids stay home due to a shutdown! Thank you for your support and helping us keep this campus safe.
