🦉🌙 WHOOO’S HUNGRY?! 🦉✨

It’s NOCTURNAL ANIMALS WEEK at Blue Devil Academy, and we’ve been having a HOOT learning all about the amazing animals that come out to play while the rest of us are tucked into bed! 🌙🦇

Of course, we couldn’t let the week go by without a few special snacks to make our learning even sweeter!

🦉🌈 Rainbow Jell-O Cups — A colorful little treat inspired by our feathered nighttime friends! Because even when the sun goes down, God’s creation is still full of color and wonder!

🦉🍰 Nocturnal Owl Cakes — Sweet little cakes topped with frosting, special colorful sprinkles, and the cutest little owl friends! A HOOT of a treat for our little night-owl explorers!

At BDA, we love finding little ways to bring our weekly lessons to life, even during snack time! Because learning doesn’t always happen with a pencil and paper. Sometimes it happens through exploring, creating, giggling, and enjoying a special treat with our friends. 💙

From the tiniest owl to the busiest little bat, we’re reminding our kiddos that God made the daytime AND the nighttime, and every little creature in between! 🦉🦇✨

BIG learning starts with little moments. 💙📚✏️

Before children are reading books on their own, writing their names, solving math problems, or understanding the world around them, they’re building the foundational skills that make all of that possible — and that’s exactly what our Buddies & Scholars are busy doing at BDA!

📚 Sharing books helps grow vocabulary, comprehension, imagination, and, most importantly, a love for reading.

🔢 Our Number Sense Mats give little learners hands-on practice with one-to-one counting — understanding that each object they count represents one number and building an important foundation for early math.

✏️ And before we expect little hands to write letters, we work on the skills that come FIRST! Pre-writing activities strengthen fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, pencil control, and practice with the lines, curves, and shapes they’ll eventually use to form letters and numbers.

☀️🌧️ Even checking the weather is an opportunity to learn! Our Weather Student of the Day gets to observe what’s happening outside and share it with the class — building vocabulary, observation skills, confidence, and a sense of responsibility.

It may look like books, counting, drawing lines, and talking about the weather — but these everyday experiences are building the skills, confidence, curiosity, and love of learning our children will carry with them into what comes next. 💙

Just a little moment from our Babies. 💙☀️

There is so much learning happening in this stage of life. Our babies are building confidence as they crawl, pull up, take those first steps, strengthen their little bodies, practice early communication, and learn about the world through touching, moving, watching, listening, and PLAYING.

And right now, one of their favorite places to explore is outside! 🌿

Time on the BDA playground gives our littlest Blue Devils opportunities to move their bodies, experience new sights and sounds, feel different textures, interact with their teachers and friends, and explore their surroundings at their own pace.

To little ones, it’s simply a fun morning outside. To us, it’s another opportunity to support all of those important little milestones along the way. 💙

We love getting to be part of these early years — and if you’re looking for a place where your baby can be nurtured, encouraged, and given lots of opportunities to safely explore and grow, we’d love to welcome your family to come experience Blue Devil Academy.

When we say we want our students to experience what they’re learning at BDA, we mean it. 💙

Throughout just the months of August and September, we have been incredibly blessed to welcome so many local businesses, organizations, first responders, and community helpers through our doors — all with one purpose: bringing learning to life for our BDA babies.

One of the things we are most proud of at Blue Devil Academy is how intentional we are about going beyond the curriculum. We plan our visitors around what our students are learning and bring the “field trip” right here to them!

🦷 During My Body + Healthy Habits, Bremen Dental Depot generously provided gift bags for every student, and dental hygienist Jo Podaras visited to teach our kiddos about taking care of their teeth and bodies.

🚒 During Fire Safety Week, the Bremen Fire Department joined us to teach our students about fire safety and the important work firefighters do every day.

🚔 For Transportation Week, the A.C.E. Unit with Carrollton City Police brought their SRT Command Truck, and our friends at Bowdon Disposal brought one of their newest black trucks for our students to see up close! Getting to see these BIG vehicles pull into BDA is always such a special experience for our little ones.

Then we tied so much of what we had been learning together during Community Helpers Week! 💙

🚌 Bremen City Schools brought a school bus for our students to climb aboard and experience.

⚡ Carroll EMC brought a power line bucket truck, giving our kiddos a chance to learn about the important work our linemen do.

🚑 And Ambucare brought an ambulance and helped our students learn more about the special people who care for others during emergencies.

And all of that happened in TWO MONTHS. 🥹

These visits aren’t simply something “fun” we add to the calendar. They are part of the BDA experience.

We can read about firefighters, linemen, police officers, bus drivers, sanitation workers, dental hygienists, and first responders — but there is something completely different about getting to meet them, ask questions, see their equipment, explore the vehicles, and connect what we learned in the classroom to the real world.

Our families absolutely LOVE our in-house field trips, and so do we. They allow our students to have some pretty incredible experiences while staying right here in the place where they already feel safe, comfortable, and loved.

We are so thankful for every single person, business, and organization who took time out of their day throughout August and September to pour into our students. The support our little school receives from this community is something we will never take for granted. 💙

At Blue Devil Academy, we don’t want to simply fill their days.

We want to fill their childhood with experiences they’ll remember.

And if this is what we can pack into August and September… just imagine what the rest of the School Year at BDA will bring. 🥹💙

🚑COMMUNITY HELPERS WEEK | AMBUCARE 🚑

We wrapped up another special Community Helpers Week visit with our friends from Ambucare!

Our students got to see an ambulance up close, learn about the important job our EMS professionals do, and hear about some of the ways they help people in our community every single day. 🚑❤️

And because apparently Community Helpers Week isn’t just for the kids… a few of our teachers even got some special blood pressure checks while they were here. 😂🩺

We are so thankful for our EMTs, paramedics, and first responders who step into situations that can be scary, uncertain, and incredibly important — and we loved giving our students the opportunity to meet some of the people behind that uniform in such a fun and positive way.

Thank you, Ambucare, for taking time out of your day to visit our BDA babies, answer their questions, and make this experience so special for them!

We say it all the time, but we truly mean it — we LOVE our community. 💙

Getting to serve alongside so many incredible people and organizations, while also feeling the support they continuously show BDA, is something we will never take for granted. Our babies are growing up surrounded by some pretty amazing community helpers. 🥹🚑💙

⚡️💙 COMMUNITY HELPERS WEEK | CARROLL EMC 💙⚡️

We had some pretty special visitors roll into BDA this week! 🥹

A huge THANK YOU to Carroll EMC for bringing one of their power line trucks out for our students during Community Helpers Week! Our kiddos got an up-close look at the bucket truck, learned a little about what our linemen do every day, AND even got to try on some of their gear — which, of course, was a BIG hit! 🦺⚡️

There is so much that happens behind the scenes to keep our homes, schools, and communities running, and we are incredibly thankful for the men and women who show up day after day to do this work — especially during storms, outages, and the moments when our community needs them most.

One of our favorite parts of what we do at BDA is giving our babies the opportunity to learn about the people who serve the community around them. These little “in-house field trips” create experiences they can actually see, touch, and remember. 💙

🚌💙 COMMUNITY HELPERS WEEK AT BDA! 💙🚌

Today brought such a special experience to BDA!

A HUGE thank you to Bremen City Schools for bringing a school bus to visit our babies in honor of Community Helpers Week! 🚌

Here in our little town, Bremen City Schools does not operate traditional school bus routes — students are car riders — and BDA does not provide transportation either. That means getting to actually climb aboard a big yellow school bus is something many of our kiddos have never experienced before!

Today they got to climb aboard, find a seat, look around, and see what it feels like to sit on a REAL school bus — all while staying safely parked right here at BDA. 💙

It also gave us the perfect opportunity to talk about bus drivers as community helpers and the incredibly important job they do in communities everywhere — safely transporting children, caring for the students entrusted to them, and helping schools run smoothly each day.

And because we’re BDA… we couldn’t have a bus visit without a super special “BUS” snack to go with it! 🚌😋

This is exactly why we love our in-house field trips so much. We get to bring experiences right through our doors that some of our babies may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience — while teaching them about the people, places, and helpers that make a community work. 🥹

Their excitement today was absolutely precious!

Some visits are special because of what our babies get to see… and some are special because of the people who show up for them. 💙

Our visit from the A.C.E. Unit with the Carrollton City Police Department during Transportation Week has truly become one of our favorite traditions at BDA — and it has so much more to do with the officers themselves than the really cool vehicles they bring. 🥹

Year after year, these officers go completely above and beyond for our BDA babies. They don’t just pull up, show them a vehicle, take a picture and leave. They get down on their level. They talk to them, laugh with them, answer all of their little questions, let them explore, and somehow manage to make every child feel like the most important little person there. And they absolutely spoil our babies. 💙

When you pour so much of your heart into creating a place for children, you never forget the people in your community who are willing to pour into them right alongside you. These officers have done that for us time and time again, and we are just incredibly grateful for the relationship they have built with BDA.

While our babies are normally VERY excited to see the Bearcat, this year the A.C.E. Unit surprised us by bringing their SRT Command Truck — and, of course, it was an absolute HIT. 🚔🙌

But years from now, our babies probably won’t remember the name of every truck they climbed inside or every piece of equipment they got to see. What we hope they will carry with them is the feeling of being safe, important and loved by the people who serve their community.

To our friends with the A.C.E. Unit — thank you for loving on our BDA babies the way you do. Thank you for never making us feel like just another stop on your schedule. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, the excitement you bring with you, and for making these little moments feel just as important to you as they are to us.

When you leave your baby in someone else’s hands each morning, you’re trusting them with so much more than just keeping them safe. 🥹💙

You’re trusting them with the little years you don’t get back. The years when they’re learning who they are, discovering how the world works, building friendships, asking a million questions, and soaking up everything around them.

That’s something we’ll never take lightly at BDA.

These last few weeks have taken our littles from learning about their bodies and healthy habits 🫀🦷 to bringing Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 to life 🌴🔤🔢 and learning important real-world lessons during Fire Safety Week 🚒🔥

And these few pictures are only a tiny glimpse of what happens inside our walls each week.

We want childhood to still feel like childhood… messy hands, big imaginations, belly laughs, new discoveries, and learning without even realizing they’re learning. 🫶🏼

Because at BDA, we aren’t just filling the hours between drop-off and pick-up.

We’re pouring into the little people who will one day become big people. And what a privilege that is. 💙

🎉💙 Happy Belated 2nd Birthday, Blue Devil Academy! 💙🎉

Yesterday marked TWO incredible years since Blue Devil Academy opened its doors, and what an amazing journey it has been! While our official birthday was yesterday, we’ve spent the entire week celebrating with our special birthday-themed curriculum, fun activities, sweet treats, and lots of memories made with the children who make our academy so special.

Over the past two years, we have been blessed to watch hundreds of little hands grow, learn, explore, and discover God’s love in a safe, nurturing environment. From first steps and first words to new friendships, school readiness, and countless milestones, every moment has helped shape the story of Blue Devil Academy.

What began as a dream has grown into a thriving school family filled with dedicated teachers, supportive families, and extraordinary children. We are so thankful for every parent who has trusted us with their most precious gifts, every teacher who pours their heart into our classrooms each day, and every child who fills our halls with laughter, curiosity, and joy.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that Blue Devil Academy is so much more than a childcare center.. it is a family. A place where children are known, loved, encouraged, and given the foundation they need to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

To our Blue Devil Academy family: thank you for being part of these first two years. Your support, encouragement, and trust have made this journey possible. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for the years ahead!
