Realizing the power that films have, especially short films, a major focus for us is helping filmmakers not only to realize their own dreams through films, but also to use film to improve our quality of life and to spark interest in pressing social issues. The Haydenfilms Institute Online Film Festival is a classic example of our focus. It gives young filmmakers from many countries an opportunity

to gain public exposure, compete for a major cash prize to finance future projects and network with both new and experienced people in the movie industry. We also strongly believe in the power of new media and technology and are dedicated to making it available to our network of filmmakers.

The 2026 Venice International Film Festival is currently underway!

The 83rd edition of the world-renowned event commenced on September 2nd and will continue until September 12. Fans can expect big-name Hollywood stars such as Maggie Gyllenhall, George Clooney, along with Italy's notable actors including Greta Scarano and Nicolas Maupus.

This year's film lineup includes Danny Boyle's newest feature "Ink", Giovanni Veroni's "Dio Ride," and many others.

The internationally-renowned Telluride Film Festival is just around the corner!

The annual Telluride, Colorado-based event will reach its 53rd edition on September 4-7, 2026.

Fans can expect a wide array of unique independent films, classic films, and programs designed to celebrate the finest in cinema from this corner of Colorado. Season 4 of Reacher is here, with star Alan Ritchson returning as big, brawling ex-military cop Jack Reacher!

Season 4 of the hit Amazon Prime Video series is based on the popular book series' 13th novel, Gone Tomorrow. This time around, Reacher witnesses a tragic su***de in Philadelphia, which leads to a massive government conspiracy only our hero can smash.

Haydenfilms mourns yet another great loss to the entertainment industry. Veteran actor, singer, and all-around great guy Tim Curry has gone to the great stage in the sky on August 26, 2026. He was 80 years old.

Cult film fans will readily remember Curry's most recognizable cinematic role as Frank-N-Furter in the wildly popular 1975 musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a part he also played on stage in the early 1970s. Curry's professional resume is vast with performances on film (Annie, Clue, Legend, IT, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York), television (Tales From The Crypt, The Wild Thornberrys), the theatre (The Pirates of Penzance, Amadeus, Spamalot), and even voice acting in video games (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius: Jet Fusion, Dragon Age: Origins).

Haydenfilms is saddened at the loss of one of pop culture's most endearing, versatile icons, Dolly Parton. The Queen of Country passed away on August 25th at the age of 80.

Parton wore many hats: singer, songwriter, businesswoman, actress, philanthropist, and activist. Her career lasted nearly 60 years, launching first her Country music days with such notable tracks as "Just Because I'm a Woman", "Jolene", and "The Last Thing On Her Mind." She would successfully blend her Country Style with a more Pop sound with hits like "Islands In The Stream" and the renowned smash "I Will Always Love You," which was later immortalized by Whitney Houston. Parton would also have a strong career in acting when she starred in hit films including "9 To 5," "Steel Magnolias," and "Joyful Noise."

Dolly Parton was also very active with social causes. She helped advocate for the American Red Cross, HIV/AIDS research, PETA, the LGBTQ community, and many more.
