The Summit Foundation For over 40 years, we have been the trusted partner in supporting the entire Summit County community

Summit Foundation is recognized as the leading philanthropic organization for Summit County and its neighbors. We are committed to creating ever better mountain communities by providing leadership and working across all boundaries. Our generous donors allow us to provide grants to local nonprofits and scholarships to help hard-working students achieve their dreams of college or other post-secondary education.

Summit County will need things in 2050 that none of us can predict yet. That's exactly why The Summit Foundation launched The Inspire Fund. 🏔️

Seeded by a founding gift from longtime locals Howard and Sue Carver, the Fund is built to grow permanently and respond fast. It focuses on three things: stronger local nonprofits, a warm welcome for new residents, and a new generation of givers.

It's not a campaign with an end date. It's an invitation for all of us to invest in this place we love, at any gift size.

At the 34th Annual Philanthropy Awards, Javier Gaspar-Gutierrez reminded us that you don't need to wait until you "grow up" or until you "have money" to give back. Giving can be your time, your talent or your treasure, and it all counts. Javier's words are exactly why we gather each year: to celebrate the everyday philanthropists who help Summit County thrive. That means volunteers, neighbors and givers of every size.

Happy first day of fall, Summit County! 🍂

The aspens are turning gold, and it's the perfect season to think about what we're grateful for (and how we give back).

Philanthropy doesn't have one look. It can be a monthly gift. A gift of stock. A donation straight from your IRA. A legacy plan that keeps giving for generations. Every one of them strengthens our mountain community.

Our job as a community foundation is to build for the next five years and the next hundred. We don't know exactly what Summit County will need, but we know philanthropy is the most powerful and nimble way to meet it.

The Inspire Fund exists to do just that: strengthen local nonprofits, welcome new residents, and raise up the next generation of givers right here in Summit County.

It's structured to grow permanently, flexible enough to respond right away, and open to gifts from anyone in the community.

A shared home for a shared mission.

The Sol Center opened its doors yesterday in Breckenridge, home to both FIRC and Building Hope. Built through collaboration and resource sharing, it's a space designed around one idea: meeting basic needs, supporting well-being, and strengthening stability are all connected.

Building Hope was incubated at FIRC, so this reunion feels right at home.
