A shared home for a shared mission.

The Sol Center opened its doors yesterday in Breckenridge, home to both FIRC and Building Hope. Built through collaboration and resource sharing, it's a space designed around one idea: meeting basic needs, supporting well-being, and strengthening stability are all connected.

Building Hope was incubated at FIRC, so this reunion feels right at home.

Congratulations to both organizations on opening the doors!

Wine at the Mine is back! 🍷⛏️ Tickets are available now for Summit Foundation's Annual Wine at the Mine, happening Wednesday, September 2 from 5–8 PM at Country Boy Mine in Breckenridge. From vinyl to 8-tracks to Napster and Spotify — nobody in 1956 could've predicted where music was headed. Last night at the Theatre SilCo Gala, the Summit Foundation danced the night away alongside our community philanthropists. We're not here for one performance or one show — we're here because we know great art and the conversations it sparks outlast any format it's played on. However listening to your favorite song has changed, some things — like the feeling of a great performance — never do.

In 2025, the Summit Foundation put $4,992,000 back into our community: 161 scholarships, 124 grants to local nonprofits, and countless moments that made this valley a better place to call home.

It was also a year of new chapters. We welcomed Ellen Reid as Executive Director, launched Gather + Give to bring neighbors together around shared purpose, and said a bittersweet goodbye to the Great Rubber Duck Race after 39 years, 300,000 ducks, and nearly $1.4 million raised for this community.

The beauty of a Community Foundation is that we don't need to be the experts on kids and the outdoors — that's KSS's passion, and they do it brilliantly. Our job is different: we help make sure the nonprofits doing this work, like KSS, have the tools, resources, and support to be even better at it. Last night's 50th KSS Gala was a fun celebration of exactly that partnership. You bring the heart. We bring the guide.

Summer fun doesn't have to stop at a great concert or good food (though those help). Around Summit County, having a good time can also mean showing up for a cause. Grab a ticket to a local fundraiser, try a yoga class benefiting a nonprofit, or just see what's happening this week.
