🌟 Women’s History Month Spotlight 🌟

Brinda is in her fourth year leading the Human Resources Division for Brea Olinda Unified School District (BOUSD). Brinda’s eye for details and improving personnel practices has operationalized the employee recruitment and retention processes that has led to greater and within the BOUSD workforce. The BOUSD practices were outdated and non-uniform in many respects, and Brinda has taken the entire organization to another level of professionalism.

She is a self-made executive who started at an entry level position within within the field of . While working as a single mother raising her three children, Brinda’s grit and determination allowed her to promote to the highest level of responsibility within the human resources educational space. While working and promoting throughout her career, Brinda was able to earn her master's degree in Organizational Leadership and become a recognized leader in the field of educational human resources.

Congratulations to Ken McCall. Mr McCall, the Patient care instructor teaching Medical Careers and Sports Medicine and Therapy at Brea Olinda High School and our very own Wildcat Athletic Trainer was named the 2022 North Orange County ROP Teacher of the Year!

Without passing a G.O.Bond we are not able to fund the extensive burden of a campus parking/drop off/pick up renovation that would be needed to accommodate the increase traffic pattern from a DOUBLE DRIVE THRU Raising Canes restaurant . MODEST estimates would exceed 1/2 million dollars$$$$!! Love Raising Canes, we just ask you develop responsibly!! Concern for the Safety of our children is your responsibility!!

Laurel Elementary is the only school in Brea that has to do student drop off and pick up on a city street. There is no space on campus to do so. There are already congestion issues and safety hazards that needs to be addressed. Putting a Raising Cane's next to Laurel would be make problems worse, not make them better.

Today I am grateful to know I will have the privilege to continue to serve the students and community of Brea. I am appreciative to all those who supported my campaign, as well as the support I received in the difficult time since election day.

The outcome of this election notwithstanding, I would like to commend Lauren Barnes for her service to our community and her willingness to put herself forward—ready to serve the students of a city we both care deeply about.

I look forward to working with the members of the current board and new board member Deana Miller. Now, we have our work cut out for us as we try to recover from and work through what has been a challenging time for the students, teachers and parents in our community.

What a ride! Thank you, to each and every person who donated towards the cost of a recount. Even in a very small trustee area recounting took almost two full days. Fortunately, all donated money will be refunded because there was a change in the final count, bringing the race to a tie. Funding this recount would not have been possible without your help.

The school board member for Trustee Area 5 will be decided on Saturday, by tossing dice. While I never anticipated this is how this race would end, I am so grateful for the support I received in my campaign for re-election. Regardless of Saturday’s outcome I will always search for ways to take the support and generosity I have received and pass it on to others.
