If you are a gun owner, you owe it to yourself to ensure that you are proficient and safe in its use and employment. Too many people buy a gun for home defense or self defense, but never take the opportunity to train with it; thinking that it’ll be there when the time comes, only to find that it’s not as easy as it looks on TV.
There is a major difference between throwing rounds down at your local range, and learning proper technique through a formalized training session that is curated to teach, develop, and build the skills necessary for practical applications.

There’s a train out thought out there that you should never take your eyes off of your target, no matter what. But it’s hard to argue the efficiency between these two methods of reholstering. Some will say “You should train to the point that you don’t have to look to reholster” fine, but how do you get to that point? By knowing where your holster is. Registration is LIVE!

After a long hiatus, Virtus Defense Solutions is finally back! This course will be held on Thursday June 23rd, at the in Brea, CA 6:00pm-9:30pm or later.

This course is intended for new shooters to gain understanding and develop proficiency in practical techniques, as well as experienced shooters to hone their skillset.

This course will cover:
- Fundamentals of marksmanship
- Manipulations and manual of arms
- Malfunction recognition and clearing
- Elements of holster draw
- Equipment considerations
And more!

Cold Start Drill
•
From 7 yards, on the command, draw and WHILE MOVING to the 3 yard line, fire 3 shots on each of the 2 pentagon boxes. Perform a slide lock reload, and fire 1 round at 2 of the 4 corner medallions, 2 rounds on the center strip, and 1 round at the remaining 2 medallions.
•
Expert is under 8, passing is under 11.5 seconds. MUST. BE. CLEAN. This was my first CLEAN run and my time was 12.70, and it took me about 1.3 seconds to fix my gun after sending the slide home prematurely (SO CLOSE).
•
This is a fantastic and challenging drill to work on movement, speed, and accuracy altogether.
