🌟 CURRICULUM CHALLENGE! 🌟

God continues to provide for Open Hands in the most beautiful ways!

After learning about our new Experience Curriculum, an anonymous Open Hands family has offered up to $500 as a dollar-for-dollar matching gift for all donations made by August 31! ❤️

That means every dollar donated will be doubled:

✨ You give $10 → it becomes $20!
✨ You give $25 → it becomes $50!
✨ You give $100 → it becomes $200!

Our community’s challenge is to raise $500 to turn it into $1,000 in the next five days!

Together, we have the opportunity to continue providing even more engaging, research-based learning experiences for every child at Open Hands!

In person: You can bring cash or check made out to Open Hands Childcare to 1414 East National Ave. Brazil IN 47834. Just put your gift in an envelope and give it to any of the childcare workers. Or if anyone is in the office, you can hand it directly to them. Make sure to put daycare curriculum in the memo or on the envelope.

Mail: Same directions, just pop it in the mail! Though we do not recommend sending cash through the mail.

Make sure to put a note in the memo that says daycare curriculum. Pastor Ashlee is happy to provide a receipt and show documentation that it went to the right spot upon request. You can make that request in the note as well.

God is so good! We just received an incredibly generous $300 donation toward the Open Hands Childcare bus safety repair—and it carried us all the way past our goal!

As we prepare to celebrate 200 years of faith, family, and community at Open Hearts, we’re trying to reconnect with the many people who have been part of this congregation through the years.

Maybe you remember Brazil First. Maybe your story is connected to Epworth. Maybe you’ve been part of Open Hearts. Perhaps you attended as a child, were married here, brought your children to Sunday School, served in a ministry, or simply have a special memory connected to this church.

Do you ever get uncomfortable when they start passing plates around at church? You’re not alone!

But peace be with you! 

There is a biblical basis to not be freaked out!

Second Corinthians 9:7 actually tells us to NOT give under compulsion!

And there are three extraordinary ways to give! It’s not just about money!

It’s about giving of yourself with what you have. And that could be time, talent, or treasure!

And Micah chapter 6 tells us:

God desires justice, kindness, and humility rather than extravagant sacrifices. 💜

Worship Service Spotlight 

We cherish our youngest disciples of Jesus so very dearly!

Today, Pastor Ashlee taught them that just like Legos come in all different shapes and sizes, so do people. And all of that difference works together to make really cool things, as long as there’s a firm foundation! 

The same is true for the body of Christ and what it can accomplish when it celebrates its diversity and works together to do the will of God with the firm foundation of the teachings of Jesus!
