UPDATE Jackson Township-We have been in contact with Duke Energy and believe we will be able to continue the school day as normal. All toilets and sinks are working and we are having bottled water brought in for students. Lunches will be served and normal instruction will take place. We wish to thank all parents for their patience and understanding today as well as the efforts of school staff to make today a meaningful event for the students.

IMPORTANT NOTICE-Currently power is out in the Jackson Township Elementary area which is affecting the school. We have been informed the power is estimated to be back on at 7:15. SCHOOL IS STILL ON FOR TODAY AND THERE IS NO DELAY OR CANCELLATION. We will have vehicles light the area for arrival and will be able to provide breakfast to students. We ask that drivers show extreme caution in the parking lot this morning at drop off as it will still be dark. Our number one priority is our student’s safety and we ask for patience this morning during drop off procedures. Thank you to our parents for their understanding.

Today, School Board member Amy Burke Adams and I had the pleasure of getting to meet with members of the 181st Indiana Racers Air National Guard! Their team shared great information on career opportunities as well as funds for college. This is a tremendous opportunity for students to not only pay for college, but also find potential careers.

Thank you to our host Colonel Ryan Harvey, Commander of the 181st Intelligence Wing, for a great meeting!

We also want to recognize Brigadier General Maurizio D. Calabrese who was unfortunately unable to join us but was also inducted into the Northview Hall of Knights. His outstanding professional achievements cannot be overstated and he is truly a role model for not only our students and Northview, but also our country. Congrats Brigadier General Calabrese!
