-Cut, style, formulate and color, re-texture, ch
ange, manipulate, and reshape hair
-Remove, shape, sculpt, and groom facial hair
-File, buff, shape, polish, clean and care for natural and artificial nails.
-Massage, manipulate, diagnose, and treat scalp and skin.
-Communicate with Guests and Coworkers.
-Recommend products that will help your Guest maintain their style outside of the salon
Barbers work not only involves executing a precise haircut, but also performing any number of techniques to the face, scalp, beard, and mustache. Barbers trim, cut, shape, and taper hair using scissors, razors, clippers, and combs. They also often provide facial hair maintenance, custom shaves, and a number of grooming services, such as:
-Shampooing
-Styling
-Coloring
-Scalp, neck, and facial massages
-Performing client consultations
-Applying lotions and aftershave after shaving
-Applying hot towels to the face to open pores
-Cleaning and sterilizing tools and equipment, such as scissors, combs, and clippers
A Manicurist is one who focuses on the hands. As a manicurist, you'll soak a client's hands or fingers and gently massage them with lotion. You'll also be responsible for cleaning, shaping and polishing the nails, along with applying and decorating fake nails. In addition to completing hands-on training, you may complete courses in:
-Health and other scientific subjects
-Manicuring techniques
-Choosing and working with artificial nails, including acrylics and gels
-Pedicuring
Estheticians are trained in skin wellness, most often helping their clients combat complexion problems through a number of therapies and practices. In addition to engaging in therapies that are designed to improve the tone, texture, color, and youthfulness of the skin of the face and neck, estheticians may perform a wide range of body therapies, as well, such as salt or sugar scrubs, body wraps, and hair removal. Waxing, threading, or using depilatories to remove unwanted hair is a common practice for estheticians, as is the application of makeup. A small sampling of the courses you may complete:
