Two months to go! Here's another Vermont Circus Festival Coach Spotlight! These folks are bringing so epic workshops to the VTCF this year. Here's a quick bit on these superstars:

🧡 Maia Castro-Santos
Maia Castro-Santos is a Vermont-based hula hoop and aerial hoop specialist who began training at age eight and now splits her time between home and performing for Spiegelworld at "The Hook." She's also brought her playful, dangerous style to classical music collaborations with the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra and Opera Vermont.

🩷 Nicky Ly
Nicky Ly is a Philadelphia-based circus artist with over 8 years in pole, specializing in flying pole while also being versed in other aerials and dance. As a coach, he breaks movement down into easy-to-understand technical pieces, with a personal style marked by smooth transitions and bendy tricks.

💜 Nicole Pisaniello
Nicole Pisaniello teaches Aerial Silks and Character Development at Host of Sparrows Aerial Circus in Richmond, VA, bringing a background as a competitive gymnast turned aerialist since 2013. As a touring company member and performer on silks and lyra, she also designs costumes and makeup, blending her theater and character work to inspire creativity in students.

💙 Nicole Dagesse
Nicole Dagesse is the founder and Artistic Director of Murmurations, a Burlington, VT aerial and dance studio, where she teaches fabric technique, improvisation, and choreography. Holding an MFA in Dance from CU Boulder, where her aerial journey began with Frequent Flyers Co., she's known for choreography blending contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and aerial arts.

Let's talk about something that doesn't get talked about enough. 🧡
On October 10 - 11, we're bringing you A Little Unwell, a circus variety show co-created by New England Center for Circus Arts and NYC-based Fox Meadow Films, featuring artists from NYC and Brattleboro in a collaborative performance project.

Through movement, storytelling, and a lot of vulnerability, they're reminding anyone who's struggling quietly: you are not alone.

💜 World Mental Health Day happens every October 10th, a day to raise awareness around mental health and push for real support for the people living with it.

🩷 And a huge thank you to the Brattleboro Retreat, who've been a cornerstone of mental health and addiction treatment in our community for nearly 200 years! Partnering with them means using our art form to open the door to harder conversations.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is out there, and asking for help is a strength.

We're getting excited! Are you? Here's another Vermont Circus Festival Coach Spotlight! These folks are bringing so epic workshops to the VTCF this year. Here's a quick bit on these superstars:

🧡 Jon Roitman
Jon Roitman is a Montreal National Circus School graduate specializing in club passing, banquine, and Russian bar, having performed in seventeen countries with companies like Cirque Eloize. He now serves as artistic director of Flying Gravity Circus and coordinates High Mowing High School's pioneering Circus Studies program for pre-professional students.

🩷 Maddye Hayes
Maddye Hayes discovered circus at 23 through recreational hula hooping, which sparked a broader passion for object manipulation and led her into fire dancing, lyra, and rope. Now a seasoned multidisciplinary performer, she's captivated audiences around the country with a style blending strength, flexibility, and artistic expression.

💜 Jackie Davis
Jackie Davis trained intensively in mime, studying under Marcel Marceau and performing 4,000+ shows as a resident mime at Epcot, before marrying clown Rick Davis and building a 20+ year performing partnership with him. A pioneering circus educator, she founded multiple NH-based circus programs, co-founded the American Youth Circus Organization, and authored Do-It-Yourself Circus Lab for Kids.

💙 Elsie Smith
Elsie Smith co-founded NECCA, Nimble Arts, and Gemini Trapeze, and performed as a duo trapezist with twin sister Serenity for four years in Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco, earning international festival honors along the way. The sisters developed their own aerial teaching methodology, helped found key circus safety and education organizations, and won the 2016 American Circus Educators' Award for Excellence in Education.
