Our preschoolers on the playground explore a fascinating world both real and imagined, full of high-speed fun on the scooter circuit, alligators to jump over and treasures to find.
Here and there, they take a break for snacks and water- and, of course, to ham it up for the camera!📸😁

Did you know the government wants to make some big changes to Head Start?

Head Start helps young kids learn and get ready for school. Right now, the government is suggesting a new plan that would get rid of a lot of the current safety and learning rules. They say this will let them serve more families, but it also means the program won't offer as much help as it used to.

Here are some of the proposed changes:

🔴𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬: Classes could be as short as half a day instead of full day

🔴𝐅𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬: Teachers wouldn't need as much training, there would be fewer teachers in each room, and home visitors would have to help twice as many families.

🔴𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Programs would no longer provide most of the help that keeps kids up-to-date on doctor and dentist visits.

🔴𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Programs would have to cut back on family support workers.

🔴𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬: Classrooms would no longer provide diapers and wipes for children during the school day.
