Dear Dancers and Families,

As you may have heard, the sale of BSD to Friends of BSD is not going to happen at this time. Therefore, summer programming will be led by BSD. There are many quickly moving parts as we all absorb this unexpected turn of events. I share the confusion, uncertainty, and frustration that you may be feeling. We will continue to keep in close contact about all unfolding developments.

However, I want to assure those of you counting on your summer dance plans, that the mini-term that starts next week will proceed as planned. There will be a few adjustments to the schedule and those adjustments and the new registration will go out tomorrow. PLEASE register promptly as we are scrambling to know who and how many students to expect. It would also be VERY helpful if you could let us know if you are intending to take classes by dropping in, but not registering.

We are working quickly to confirm the remaining summer schedule of camps and intensives, but we need your help. We currently do not have access to the enrolled summer student lists. If you could please fill out a short survey (on our website) ASAP, it will be pivotal in helping us know how to proceed with summer programming.

We are completely committed to ensuring classes and programming continue and thrive at BSD. While this is a complicated time, we are reminding ourselves that dance is an enduring and connecting force that brings us together and makes us all stronger and more resilient, and we need it more than ever today. It is our love of dance and love of our community that is driving this effort and we are feeling hopeful. We will be in very close contact with you all in the coming days to communicate information as it becomes available.

BSD Holiday Dance Offerings! Please join us for our annual post-holiday ballet class as we come together to celebrate the life of BSD Dancer Colleen McCloskey-Meyer. All proceeds benefit the Colleen McCloskey Meyer Scholarship Fund

It’s been a week since opening night of our and we are still reeling from the sights, the smells, the feels, and the sounds of this incredible production. Thank you to everyone who came out to join us in the historic and enjoy a truly impressive production by our amazing dancers, crew, guest artists and , and so many volunteers and of course and Holly Johnson—co-artistic directors—and producer . Over 70 dancers, aged 6 through 66, and over 1,500 audience members over 3 days. What a whirlwind of awesomeness! There are so many moments captured on and off stage from our time in the theater. We will be sharing more in the coming days!
