As the school year comes to a close, Washington Township School District is honored to celebrate the retirements of three extraordinary educators. Please join us in thanking Ruth O'Cone, Dawn Baxendale, and Heidi Kaiven for their years of service, heart, and unwavering commitment to our children. 💙
Ruth O'Cone joined our district in 1996 and has spent her career supporting our youngest learners as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher and Basic Skills Instructor. A devoted teacher, she has helped countless students find their footing and grow into confident readers. Thank you, Ruth, for your dedication and care.
Dawn Baxendale has given an incredible 38 years to Washington Township as a 5th grade teacher, with a lifelong love of reading and literacy at the heart of her classroom. Her steady presence and big heart have touched generations of students and colleagues alike. Thank you, Dawn, for a remarkable career.
Heidi Kaiven has served as our Media Specialist since 2005, inspiring students to fall in love with reading and books. Her warmth and encouragement in the library left a lasting mark on every child who passed through her doors. Thank you, Heidi, for sharing the joy of reading with us.
To Ruth, Dawn, and Heidi—thank you for the years, the dedication, and the countless lives you've touched. You will be deeply missed, and we wish you all the happiness in this well-earned next chapter. 🍎📚
