We are just 3 weeks away from auditions for SLC Drama Club’s production of “Finding Nemo Jr”, and our creative team cannot wait! We are looking for students in grades 5-12 at SLC to make up the incredible cast and crew for our performances on November 13th and 14th, 2026.

Group auditions (for ALL cast) will take place on Wednesday, 9/9. Students can sign up for either the 4:00PM or 5:00PM time slot via the google form on the document below. We will teach the students a song and a short dance to perform in small groups, followed by reading some lines from the script! All experience levels are welcome!

Solo auditions (for students that want a solo singing and/or speaking role) will take place on Thursday, 9/10 and Friday, 9/11.
Students will be asked to sing a song and perform a monologue from memory (only a monologue is required for students that do not wish to have a singing role).

Interested in a crew role instead? Applications are due on Friday, 9/11.

Students in grades 4-6 participated in a one week Summer Book/Cartoon Club! Students read The Cartoonist Club by Raina Telegemeir (one of our favorites) and Scott McCloud. The graphic novel focused on a group of friends on a quest to learn how to make comics and learn a lot about themselves on the way. We also learned a lot about creating comics from the novel, including some fun vocabulary words (did you know the word for a sweat bead in a comic is called a plewd?). We were also lucky to welcome Alexis Laneuville from Art Honey Studios who helped students create their very own comics! We ended the week with a field trip to see Moana, have ice cream, and visit Spring’s Park! Thank you to Ms. Lex, Massena Movieplex, Dairy Queen, and the Alcoa Foundation for a fun filled week!

SLC students enjoyed the four day IMPETUS camp at Clarkson University this summer!

Students worked and learned about roller coasters and theme park games. The middle school students made a claw grabber game. The 9th and 10th graders designed a roller coaster with the software No Limits. The 11th and 12th graders created a roller coaster to include calculations of g and stopping forces, velocities, and stopping times. They also created 3D scale models of their coaster. All campers went to The Great Escape Theme Park to study coasters up close. They had a blast!
