The Hospitality Internship Program is open to any student actively enrolled in a college or university majoring or minoring in Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant, Food & Beverage, Travel & Tourism Management or a related field. Last week, the Hospitality Management Department hosted a Senior Reception for the Hospitality Management, Special Event Management, Culinary Arts, and the Nutrition and Dietetics Major Seniors! This reception was held at the pavilion outside of the Mill on campus.

Thank you to Lamae's Intro to Hospitality class, the Beverage Practicum students, and the Baking & Pastry class for participating and helping develop and create such an amazing event to honor and congratulate our seniors.

Congratulations to all of the seniors who are graduating in 5 days! The hospitality/culinary seniors include: Micah Thompson, Miriam Wyatt, Vitaly Kulyk, Brent Battagalia, Mallory Morris, Cass Nogy, David Allison, Elizabeth Gates, Aisha Taban, and Addie Parrish. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work these past four years. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you!

Looking for an Internship in the Wedding/Events Industry?

Dooley's Chapel on the Lake is looking for a Management Intern. This position is part-time (12-20 hrs/week).

Starting Salary: $11.00/hour
Start Date: May 2021

Front Desk Responsibilities:
- Interface with Resort & Chapel guests, families, staff & professionals
- Maintain efficient/professional relationship with Vendors, Contractors, etc.
- Continue relationships with government agencies (Fire, Health Dept. & others)
- Assist with contracted agencies (Dock, Lawn Service, Housekeeping, & more).
- Maintain relationships with local agencies/businesses

Office Work:
- Mail outs & Graphic Design
- Assist with technology, social media, and emails
- Help maintain Resort Reservations & Wedding folders

Housekeeping:
- Strip out cabins & conduct cabin inventory post check-out
- Chapel breakdown & clean up post wedding, conference, or event
- Maintain housekeeping supplies

Supervisory/Business Exposure:
- Interface with vendors, housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry service
- Post check-out & event completion evaluations (check for damages, etc)
- Assist with instruction & supervision of wedding helpers
- Review forecast, budget, and business projections
- Book-keeping review

Dress Code:
Resort: Dooley shirt, shorts/skorts, hiking boots/sneakers
Chapel: Chapel shirt, black capris, pants, skort, and closed toe shoes

Other:
- Water Supply: Monthly sampling, chlorination, and water softener.
- Pool Area/Dock: daily sampling, safety equipment, pavilion area, and review with Dock Co.
- Sewer Plant: Tour & Review with Sewer plant manager
- Resort/Chapel Fire-Safety Equipment & Inspections, Grounds, Playground, Fire Pit, etc.

Dooley's Chapel on the Lake is looking for Wedding Helpers. This is a part time volunteer position that is year round.

Overview:
As a wedding helper you will assist Dooley's Chapel on the Lake staff during weddings, receptions, and events. Applicant will learn wedding and reception set up and take down. Wedding helper will be responsible in assisting with activities during the event.

Overview:
- Assist in all aspects of running the Chapel & Resort when needed.
- Acting Manager during proprietor's absence
- Assist with development/management of expansion of properties.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Hospitality/Hotel & Restaurant Management, Event Planning/Coordinating, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in customer service and event coordination a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
- Weekend work required, Days, Evenings, and some holidays
- Willingness to learn and/or maintain social media accounts.
- Enthusiastic, upbeat personality to work with our families, couples, and corporate guests
- Able to pass standard background check, drug screening possible

Addie is from Paragould, Arkansas and she will be graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Hospitality Management with a minor is business administration. Addie plans to do as much traveling as she can while soaking up time with her friends and family.
