GO CAPS Tri-Lakes associates have been hard at work developing job-seeking skills from crafting well-written resumes and setting up LinkedIn accounts to honing interview skills. College of the Ozarks business students conducted mock interviews with our student-associates, allowing them to put their knowledge into practice and receive immediate feedback on areas for continued growth.

GO CAPS Tri-Lakes associates have been busy this month building a professional skillset, beginning with how to make a great first impression. Associates learned the importance of good eye contact, a firm handshake, timeliness, and professional dress. They crafted their 30 second elevator pitches and introduced themselves to Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce staff. Real-world learning in action!

Our GO CAPS Business & Entrepreneurship students had an inspiring day learning from Lauren Hustead, Director of Marketing for the Branson Chamber & CVB — and a proud GO CAPS alum from Reeds Spring High School!

Lauren shared her journey from running her own small business to work her way through college debt-free, and ultimately building a successful career in marketing and tourism leadership. Our students loved hearing the real-life lessons, challenges, and encouragement she shared along the way.

To wrap up the day, students had the opportunity to paint tiles that will become part of a mural in downtown Branson — a fun and creative way to leave their mark on the community!

A huge thank you to Lauren for investing in our students and showing them how hard work, perseverance, and passion can open so many doors.
