Tisko Elementary School PTA Mary R. Tisko School is a K-4 elementary school with 400+ students. The Mary R.

Tisko School is a community where children, teachers, and parents/guardians share in the effort to create an exciting and challenging place for children to grow. Because the PTA is an active force in the school, we urge as many people as possible to join and help. We are especially anxious to have fathers become part of the PTA and share in its programs. The efforts of the PTA contribute to progra

ms and activities which enhance the academic and social development of our children. Through its efforts, our children are exposed to opportunities to learn, play and interact that are certain to create positive, long-term effects in their lives. The PTA supports such programs as the Cultural Arts Committee, Community Connectors, and the Family Activities Committee, as well as many others.

Oh what a year it has been! Hard to believe it’s over! This year, the PTA served up many breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks for our hard working teachers and staff! We had amazing Family Nights in the Fall and Spring, with our Literacy Nights and our STEM night, hosted 2 book fairs and a Holiday Market, along with co-planning Trunk or Treat with the PTAs at Sliney and Murphy, brought in assemblies, supplied much needed recess equipment and classroom supplies, and had our First Annual Tisko Carnival, which had an amazing turnout and So. Much. FUN!!! That’s just a minor snippet of the behind the scenes of the PTA. I have been honored to serve with the PTA board the past 2 years, and I know that the board for the next 2 years will be even better. I am very pleased to announce your PTA Board for the next 2 years!!

Last year, the Tisko 3rd grade classes planted pollinator gardens at Foote Riverside park on Pine Orchard Rd. This year, they came back as 4th graders and added some annual plants to the gardens, and planted some trees to compliment the gardens. A huge thank you to Branford Public Works for helping our students! When you’re out and about this weekend, swing by and see the beautiful work they did!!

We are almost 2 weeks away from the Tisko Carnival!! Due to the amazing support we have already received we have been able to add a few more fun things that day. Hello Tisko!!! Just a reminder that our LAST PTA meeting is being held this Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Stony Creek Brewery. Come meet the board for 2024-2026! We will be ordering some pizzas. Come join us!!!

Also, as we are preparing for the end of the year, we are in need of some supplies for the abundance of activities we have going on!! Please consider purchasing an item or 2 to help out! Thanks for all your support!
