Farm Notes for Poor Crop Yields:
Conduct regular soil tests well about every three years to determine nutrient deficiencies, pH levels, and organic matter content.
Why do I need to do this?
Understanding the soil's condition helps in making informed decisions about what amendments (like lime, compost, or specific fertilizers) are needed to improve soil health and, consequently, crop yields.
Future Benefit: By regularly amending the soil based on test results, the farmer can gradually improve the soil's fertility and structure, leading to better crop production.
