The old rolling table had a good run.✌️

Here's your behind-the-scenes look at our little upgrade, because apparently even my laptop needs a more comfortable place to work. A modern look adjustable height, and a tilting top. Heck yeah!

It may just be a table, but little details make a difference in how the clinic looks, feels, and functions day to day. And yes, the test spin test was necessary. 😂

Work bag is packed. Coffe cup secured. I’m out. 😂✌️

Papaya Primary Care will be closed October 5–12 while I take some time off with family. I’ll be back Tuesday, October 13.

I talk a lot about making your health a priority, and that includes rest, too. A little reminder that you don't have to earn a break or wait until you're completely burned out to take one. 💛

People aren't the only ones getting taken care of around here! 🌱😂

A little attention, consistency, and care goes a long way — with plants and people.

Shelly's art is back! 🎨

If you saw our original space, you probably remember the amazing mural she painted for us. It became such a big part of Papaya and our brand that, honestly, painting over it when we moved was one of the harder parts of leaving that space.

When we started settling into the new clinic, I knew I wanted some of Shelly’s art here too. She dropped off 2 large canvases and a 3-piece set this week. I already have a favorite. 😂

Thank you, Shelly at Weird Design Studio for being part of Papaya from the beginning and helping make this new space feel like home. 💛

I put the Dexcom G7 and Instinct CGM head-to-head to see how similar the numbers would be.

My take? Overall, pretty close.

For a little context, both report an adult MARD around 8.2%—but MARD is a population-level measure of sensor accuracy, not a guarantee that two sensors will give you the exact same number at the exact same moment.

And honestly, this is why I don't think there's one “best” CGM for everyone with T1D.

The best one is the one that works well for you—including the accuracy, app interface, alarms, wear experience, pump compatibility, and how you actually like using the technology.

The tech should fit your diabetes management, not the other way around. 💛

You know your body better than anyone.

My job isn't to tell you what you have to do. It's to listen, educate, give you the information you need, and help you make decisions that fit your life.

You're in the driver's seat. I'm just along for the ride. 💛

I just renewed my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification.

Diabetes technology and treatments are changing quickly, and staying current means I can better help patients navigate CGMs, insulin pumps, medications, and all the data that comes with them.

This isn't just about adding letters after my name. It’s about bringing up-to-date knowledge, new technology, and practical guidance to the people I care for... and meeting them where they are, without judgment.

I know how important that is, because I live with diabetes too. 💛

Access might be what gets you here. Quality is what keeps you here.

Same or next-day appointments are great.
Self-scheduling is pretty awesome too.
Being able to text when something comes up? Nice.

Access matters. A lot.

But having someone who knows you, listens, and follows through?
That's the part that matters long after the appointment is over. 💛

So... what exactly is Tidepool? 👀

It's a free diabetes data platform that can bring information from CGMs, insulin pumps, glucose meters and other devices together in one place.

Which means more data. More context. More opportunities to spot patterns.

I had a great conversation with Brian about all of this—and the personal connection to T1D that makes the work even more meaningful.

This is the kind of diabetes nerdiness I can get behind. 🤓
