Value vs. Price: A Recent Client Story

This week, I encountered a potential client who learned the hard way that price is what you pay, but value is what you get.

After agreeing to my fair, upfront fee as a CPA with over 30 years of experience, they promised a deposit. A week passed, and after waiting 2 hours for them to show up, they said, “I’m still thinking about it.” My response? “I’m shredding your case packet. Goodbye.”

Here’s the difference: Big tax firms piecemeal their fees, and you never know the full cost upfront. I quote one fee at onboarding, payable in installments. The investments I’ve made—$50K in education, $5K+ in software—just saved clients $30K, $25K, and $10K.
