Today is National Physician Su***de Awareness Day. (Swipe for statistics 👈🏽)“Over the past year, over 6 in 10 physicians (61%) reported they experienced feelings of burnout. When left untreated, burnout can cause more cases of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) and substance use, and lead to suicidal thoughts for physicians, directly impacting physician su***de rates. Today we welcomed our new Administrative Director, Rodi Marcelle, to the Brandon GME team! Rodi brings with her over 30 years of GME experience and will be replacing our beloved Pam Demers as Pam has accepted a new role as our Division Director. Best of luck to these two in their new roles!

Super excited for our GME family! What an amazing opportunity. Thank you to the NFL for recognizing our hero’s.

It’s safe to say that the 2021’s will be like no other championship. And on football’s grandest stage tonight, some of our HCA West Florida colleagues will be representing healthcare workers that have cared like no other in every hospital in every community across the nation.

As you root on the The Kansas City Chiefs or Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reserve applause and cheers for the 7,500 vaccinated front liners lining the stands. You might catch these HCA Healthcare caregivers on the big screen who’ve fought hard during the pandemic for their patients: occupational therapy assistant Gabriela McCort, nurse manager Theresa England and infection prevention director Carlo Rivera.

“I’ll be telling my grandkids about the time that I went to the Super Bowl the same year as serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Carlo, a Bucs fan. “It is an incredible feeling to see smiles on our selfless healthcare workers’ faces that have sacrificed so much to provide care to those in need.”
