4th grade ELA spent time learning about the events of 9/11 and ended the week with a character discussion of Welles Crowther.

Students in Mrs. Martin & Miss Roncalli’s classes received a red bandana to remember the hope it brought others on that tragic day, but also the courage Welles had to selflessly volunteer to rescue as many as he could!

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today BES faculty, staff, and students took time to remember and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001.

Throughout this week, our students engaged in age-appropriate activities, participated in meaningful conversations, and listened to stories of courage and kindness to learn about the importance of remembering those who lost their lives and honoring the heroes who stepped forward to help others.

We are grateful for the opportunity to teach our students about courage, compassion, unity, and the importance of remembrance.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Mr. Smith and Mrs. Alderman’s classes learned about the courage, selflessness, and heroism of Welles Crowther as part of their 9/11 remembrance activities.

Through learning about his bravery and the countless acts of heroism displayed on September 11, 2001, students were reminded that even the smallest acts of kindness, courage, and service can make a lasting difference.

🩺✨ Learning Beyond the Classroom! ✨🩺

A BIG thank you to Dr. Kelley Martin for taking time to train up our students! We loved learning about the ins and outs of being a doctor, asking questions, and getting a firsthand look at a career in medicine. ❤️

We truly believe some of the BEST learning happens when our school and community come together. Every community member who walks through our classroom doors brings real-world experiences, new opportunities, and connections that our students will remember long after the lesson is over.

It takes a village to educate, encourage, and prepare our students for the world beyond the classroom, and we are so thankful to have a community willing to be part of that village! 🏫🤝🩺
