I’m so honored and blessed to be one of the chosen by the Louisiana Council for the Social Studies to present at their conference from October 20-22, 2024. Explaining the importance of debate in the classroom, specifically for minority and African-American students will be entertaining and informative.

Everyday I count my blessings and thank God for his favor upon me, even though at times I feel like I don’t deserve it. The website is coming together and it shows my official headshot and information as the NEW Head Coach for Team Morocco World Schools Debate Team! It’s an honor and privilege that I don’t take for granted!

While it’s been a few weeks since the National Speech & Debate Association Championships, but they released the public viewing of the finals of Big Questions Debate has been released. It’s still a bit surreal that my student, Talia Askenazi of Arlington High School won the national championship. Back to back nattys for Arlington High School. Amazing what belief and sacrifice can do. So blessed and honored to be her and AHS Coach!

For the second consecutive year I’ve coached a national champion at the National Speech & Debate Association Championships in Big Questions Debate. I can’t tell you how honored and most importantly how blessed I am coaching Arlington High School and this young lady, Talia Askenazi! I will be savoring this and thanking God for his favor!

It’s amazing what my students and faith can do. For the 2nd year in a row, I have a student in finals in Big Questions Debate at the National Speech & Debate Association.

I’m so honored and blessed to coach my two teams at the National Speech & Debate Association national championships. So far here is the update.

Davidson Academy Online: Samual aca made Quarterfinals in Congress (House of Representatives) but barely missed semis. Elisa Woo and Daniel Klapach are continuing their journey in middle school Public Forum Debate.

Arlington High School: Leon Van Leeuwen & Tobin Pacheco bowed out in Extemp Debate. Spencer Carman went to Octofinals in Big Questions Debate and lost a tight round, and Talia Askenazi is now in Quarterfinals of Big Questions Debate!

The journey isn’t over! Looking forward to the continue grind today and pray and hope we make it for the grind on Friday.

Sometimes I wonder why God has blessed me so much. I’m here at the National Speech & Debate Association Speech & Debage Championships and I brought TWO teams to nationals and they are making their marks!

Arlington High: Talia Askenazi and Spencer Carman broke in Big Questions Debate

Davidson Academy Online: Samuel Cao broke in Student Congress (House of Representatives)

I now have a middle school Public Forum team will compete starting tomorrow from Davidson Academy Online AND two students from Arlington HS in Extemporaneous Debate! I’m so honored and blessed to be their coach and guide them. Now, back to the grind because we have a championship to earn!

One year ago I brought 4 amazing young ladies to Phoenix for the NSDA National Championships and was blessed to have one of them win a Natty in Big Questions Debate. Looking forward to to bringing another set of scholars and have a great showing. Ready for Nats!
