Apex Shootout. An event I've followed for a while now and finally decided to take a swing at. Overall I'd call it a scorcher, both in intensity and temperature. Dr. Wes Jenkins PT, DPT and his crew put on one of the best tactical fitness events in the region. Plus I finally got my shirt 🌝.

I struggled, both with my fitness and my shooting in my division. Humbling reminder of where I'm actually at in this journey. I picked a harder division on purpose to test myself and walked away with a solid list of things to work on, so I'm calling this a benchmark I look forward to revisiting.

It also never hurts being surrounded by some of the best people I've had the privilege to call friends. My day was made infinitely better thanks to my homies Brian Fowkes Stefan Still David Howey Jesus Galan Andrew Conrad Wvvy Stvrs vercammen_jon The Fire Dad Brandon Chris Smith and more, if I didn't mention you I probably don't know your IG handle by heart, but I still love ya.

The PipeBell Power Truck is most known for truck flips, and if you've never done one under fatigue, you're missing out on one of the best conditioning tools out there. I've been using mine for The Patriot Games training and it's not even close to replaceable.

If you're a serious competitor, go check out PipeBell Fitness. This isn't a nice to have, it's the kind of equipment that closes the gap between training and what actually shows up on stage.

My wife uses it just as much as I do, which says a lot about how fun it actually is.

Two days on my feet at Sawmill Showdown, Battle Bossing the Patriot Games stages out here in Laurens, South Carolina. Up ladders, across gravel, on concrete, in the mud, all day both days. Wearing the OTB T-Kool Mids, and they didn't complain once.

The GRIP-STIK outsole with the reverse herringbone lugs held up on the caving ladders and range surfaces, and the EVA midsole genuinely rides like a running shoe. No hot spots, no break in period drama.

I've trusted OTB since GWOT. That's not marketing talk, that's boots on my feet in places that mattered. Good to see they're still building footwear at that same standard.

JP and I are teaming up to host monthly Pistol Skills and Drills sessions at Shooting Sports Of Tampa Bay. Expect dynamic pistol work, moving and shooting, the stuff that actually translates to building skill instead of just standing still and punching paper.

On top of that, Tactical Shooting Sports Association is putting together an Outlaw Pistol/Shotgun Match. A local match at Tampa's longest running indoor range is something I've wanted to make happen since I moved here, so this one means a little more.

Gear wise, the ZULISY Z1 XL keeps proving itself and the Rock Island Armory / Armscor 1911 A2 is holding up too. I'm putting together a The Hot Range exclusive review on that budget workhorse soon.

Also just got my hands on the Zulisy OAK Plus PRO and it's already mounted up on the rifle. It's earned my trust through the competitions I've run it through so far, now it's time to see if it can hang with the budget rifle dots that already have a name for themselves.

Halfway done with 2026.

Two of my personal goals for 2026 were to get in better shape and shoot more. Thanks to some exceptional people in my life I've been able to do both and am not slowing down.

My The Patriot Games family has pushed me to work harder than I ever have before, always supporting me and helping me become a better athlete.

When one of my best friends hands me an authentic Crye Airframe Helmet complete with Chops, I'll find any reason to wear it. Shame none of my ear pro would work with it 🤣

I could have worn my G1s to really seal the Future Soldier LARP.

The greatest irony is that after dragging my Rock Island Armory / Armscor 1911 A2 and ZULISY Z1 XL through a literal sand pit, my FPS Holsters holster is the only thing that is having issues, NO fault of theirs, but it's due for a cleaning.

Shout out to my homie JP, he's shooting Apex Shootout Precision Gun Match right now and I couldn't make it.
