Maybe youāre in a season where it feels like God is pressing, separating, or stripping away things you thought you needed. Maybe youāre wondering, Lord, what are You doing? š
Iām currently reading The Anna Anointing and Dark Night of the Soul, and God has been connecting so many things for me.
One of the biggest things Iām learning is that we have to cultivate our own oil.
Annaās life was marked by prayer, fasting, worship, faithfulness and consistently seeking the presence of God. She experienced loss, but she allowed that loss to lead her into deeper alignment with Him. And when her moment came, she didnāt miss it. She had oil.
That challenged me because sometimes the pressing weāre asking God to remove may be producing something in us that comfort never could.
Sometimes the waiting is teaching us how to remain faithful when the answer is delayed. Sometimes the separation is making room for deeper intimacy with Him.
And maybe thatās where you are too.
Iām learning not to despise every uncomfortable season or rush to get out of it. Instead, Iām asking: Lord, what are You producing in me here?
I want to be someone who has oil when the moment comes, not because I borrowed someone elseās encounter with God, but because I learned to seek Him for myself.
āYou anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.ā Psalm 23:5
May we be people who keep our lamps burning, remain faithful in the waiting, and stay close enough to Him that when our moment comes⦠weāre ready. š„šŖš„
