A message from Coach Arrick
Parents and Guardians of DTW, SPMS, and MCHS kids,
I think some things need to be clarified. We have close to 200 kids between the three schools. Here are some Rules of Engagement to hopefully ensure we lessen the confusion level for all parties concerned.
Coach Tracy manages all of the paperwork for the high school. Coach Michelle manages all of the paperwork for the middle school. Coach Arrick manages all of the paperwork for the elementary school.
Envelopes are provided for you to put payments or paperwork in, and ink pens are there for you to write your information on those envelopes. At a minimum, the child's name needs to be on the envelopes. We received a few payments yesterday with no information attached whatsoever.
If you text a coach concerning your child, at a minimum, say who you are and what school or team the child is on. Coaches receive random text messages with no information to align with which one of the almost 200 children on the teams. You can also send emails to the perspective teams coach.
We still have parent or guardian names on the team band app with no child name attached; this needs to be corrected.
We still have archery fees and or paperwork that has not been submitted, and no arrangements have not been made to address them. Your child will not be permitted to continue participating after 21 Nov if this is not corrected.
SPMS and MCHS grades have been pulled, and we already have kids that are not meeting the grade requirements to compete. You can check their grades on Infinite Campus; passing grades are required to remain active on the team.
A white piece of paper was sent home for Parent t-shirt orders; this was not for team jersey orders. If a coach has not told you that your team jersey order has been submitted, that information will be available shortly.
When available, payment receipts will be located in the hallway area outside of the gym.
If you require clarification on any of this information, come in and talk to a coach before, between, or after practice.

Flights start at 9am and run to 6:15pm. 🏹

!!!!! GENERAL ANNOUNANCEMENT !!!!!

Parents / Guardians / Archers

If your child leaves something at practice an jacket, sweater, water bottle, etc.. please call or text one of the Coaches. Do Not send us a message on Band or Facebook.

We try to do a sweep to the gym before we start practice but that doesn’t always happen to see if there was already stuff left behind but that doesn’t always happen.

If we aren’t able to do this before practice and when practice is over and we see a jacket, sweater, water bottle, etc.. we do not take any remaining items in the gym unless we know it belong to an Archer. We do not take them because it could be one of DTW student items.

Practice Times and Dates for New and Returning Archers.

1. What day will my Archer Practice?

Starting October 10th, if your child is in 6th grade and attends one of the schools below and meets the criteria outlined they will attend practice on the days below for the entire season until we make cuts.

Monday and Wednesday Practice Only

a.. DTW - Only 6th Grade Archers that are new to NASP Archery.

b. Ekron - All 6th Grade Archers, regardless if you have shot NASP Archery before.

c. Payneville - All 6th Grade Archers, regardless if you have shot NASP Archery before.

Starting October 11th, if your child is in 6th, 7th or 8 grade and attends one of the schools below and meets the criteria outlined they will attend practice on the days below for the entire season until we make cuts.

Tuesday and Thursday Practice Only

a. Flaherty - All 6th Grade Archers, regardless if you have shot NASP Archery before.

b. SPMS - All 7th & 8th Grades Archers that are New and never shot NASP Archery and Archers who have never shot for SPMS Archery Team.

2. What time does my Archer show up for practice?

Below are the practice times. Pick one and that is your Archers Practice Time for the entire year unless you make changes with Coach Greg or Coach Michelle or if we have too many kids show up for one practice we will more some around.

As a reminder practice times are:

a. 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm - parents be at the school to pick up your child at 6:30 pm.

b. 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm - parents be at the school to pick up your child by 7:45 pm.

*** if your Archer practices at the second practice time please be mindful that we have to put up all the equipment.

*** Secondly, if it is 8:05 pm and your child hasn’t come out yet, come inside instead of sitting in your car and posting on Band or Social Media to complain about your child getting out of practice late. Most of the time your child is in the gym talking to their friends, it isn’t the coaches holding them back.

3. When do returning Archers start practice?

Starting October 24,

If your Archer is in 6th Grade at DTW and shot for the DTW Archery Team as a 5th grader they will practice on Monday’s and Wednesday’s.

SPMS Archers returning you will practice on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

Pick a Time from above. This will be your time for the entire season unless we need to shift Archers around because too many show up for one practice or until we make cuts.

4. When is the Archer Fee Due?

If your Archer cannot make it on one of the days they are scheduled, then please be sure to reach out to Coach Greg or Coach Michelle.

Parents and Guardians

We are about to begin the 22-23 Archey season. Middle School Archery is for Grades 6-8..

1. No long sleeves shirts at practice. If your child does not adhere to the footwear policy (No Crocks or Open-toe shoes), they will not practice or compete.

2. All emails need to be sent to [email protected]

3. All Sign Up Forms are Due the First practice your Archer attends.

4. Sign Up Deadline is October 25. This means if your archer has not attended a practice by October 25 and you have not contacted a coach to let them know why they haven’t attended a practice they will not be on the team.

There will not be any additional signups after that date (please pass that information on).

5. The $70 fee is due no later than 3 Nov 22. Please remember this is nonrefundable, and it covers the equipment maintenance and the first few tournaments of the season

6. All payments will need to be placed in an envelope with the child's name on the outside. Checks need to be made out to the Meade County Archery Boosters.

7. Your child's name must be attached to your profile on the Band App. Have the name reflect if you have kids in multiple schools or multiple elementary kids. (parent name (child 1, child 2, child 3). This is not social media; this platform is only for passing on information, not personal announcements.

8. It is said every year; it is suggested that you do not buy a bow until you know if your child is going to stick with the program. If you intend on purchasing your child a bow, we ask that you do not make any modifications to it and ensure that it is a Genesis original, not the mini.

9. Our first practice for new Archers only will be 10 OCT. This is for new Archers only. More to follow.

10. The regular season practice for all archers will begin on 24 OCT 22.

11. Practice dates are Monday and Wednesday, 5:30-6:45 or 6:45-8:00 PM. More to follow.

12. Practices will be closed. No exceptions; if this rule is not followed, you and your child will be asked to leave. This will most likely change later in the season.
