Our Health Science students took their knowledge of cell structure to the next level with this edible cell project, creating a cake that showcases the different parts of a cell.

From the nucleus to the mitochondria, these students proved that sometimes the best way to learn is to build it… and then eat it! 😋

🚜 Real careers. Real opportunities.

Our students recently had the opportunity to hear from Boyd CAT about careers in the heavy equipment industry.

Boyd CAT is looking for the next generation of diesel technicians, mechanics, and other skilled trades professionals—and our students are getting a firsthand look at what those careers can offer.

It’s another great example of why connecting industry with instruction matters. When students can hear directly from employers about the skills they need and the opportunities available, they can start making connections between what they’re learning today and where it could take them tomorrow.

Our partnership with Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is growing—and so are the opportunities for Meade County students.

📚 1,431 college credit hours earned
💰 $140,000 in estimated tuition savings for families
🎓 31 disciplines and programs represented
📈 26% increase in dual credit participation
👥 859 unique MCHS students enrolled since 2021-22

And these aren’t just traditional college courses. Students are earning credit in areas like healthcare, welding, information technology, and machining—connecting college coursework directly to their career goals.

We’re proud of the partnership between Meade County High School and Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and the opportunities it creates for our students.

Mr. Rivera’s engineering students are tackling a hands-on challenge using the engineering design process: build a free-standing paper tower that reaches for the sky while maintaining enough stability to stay standing.

Today we had the privilege of honoring former Meade County College & Career Center Principal Faye Campbell as a Meade County Greenwave Legacy Award recipient.

Mrs. Campbell’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students helped shape the foundation of the College & Career Center and left a lasting impact on our school and community. It was a special moment to recognize the legacy she built and the lives she influenced along the way.

Our faculty was incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor with her. Congratulations, Mrs. Campbell, and thank you for everything you’ve done for Meade County Schools! 💚

Applications are now open for the 2026 Community Partnership Initiative (CPI) Grant, awarding $10,000 to a local nonprofit organization with an innovative program focused on youth education, sustainability, or a combination of both. The application deadline is September 30, 2026.

At the Meade County College & Career Center, we've seen firsthand the impact of this grant. Last year's award helped expand our welding program by providing students with additional hands-on training opportunities and equipment that prepare them for high-demand careers right here in our community. We are incredibly grateful for Monument Chemical's continued investment in local education and workforce development.
