The final day of All in for Agriculture Education Week is here!! Thank you so much to all of our farms this week for sharing about their family’s history! Our Day 5 spotlight is: ✨Roberts Family Farm✨

Roberts Family Farm

The farm has been a part of their family for more than a century. Their family purchased the farm in 1904, beginning a legacy that has continued through generations.

In 1996, Kevin and Rhonda purchased the farm, and in 2000 they began a new chapter by starting their pumpkin patch, along with U-pick blackberries and sweet corn, which they sold at the farmers market. What started as a small family farm venture has grown over the years into a full-time destination for families and visitors from near and far.

Today, their farm offers much more than crops. After Thanksgiving, they open their Christmas tree operation for the first three weekends of the season, giving families an opportunity to make memories together and take home a tree for their Christmas celebrations. Rhonda also operates her bakery right here on the farm, adding another special part of the experience they offer their guests.

Their farm is also home to a venue for weddings and other special events, allowing them to share this beautiful place with people during some of the most important moments in their lives.

What they enjoy most is seeing people come through their gates, slow down, spend time together, and enjoy the farm. After more than a century of family history, they are proud of what the farm has become and grateful for everyone who has supported them along the way.

Most importantly, they are thankful that their children want to continue the family tradition. Their hope is that they will carry the farm forward into the next generation, just as those before them did.

For them, this farm isn’t just a business. It’s their family’s history, their livelihood, and a place where generations come together to make memories.

Day 4 of Ag Education Week! Our spotlight is: ✨Hardesty Farms & Greenhouses✨

Hardesty Farms & Greenhouses is a first-generation family farm in Guston, Kentucky, founded by Nicholas Hardesty in 2001. After marrying Bethany in 2009, the couple continued building the farm and business together while raising their three daughters and creating a life centered around agriculture and family.

What began as a small family farm has grown into a thriving greenhouse operation, where the Hardestys grow their own flowers and plants, raise cattle, and grow a variety of produce. Their greenhouses have become a big part of the farm, allowing them to offer locally grown plants to their community throughout the year.

In 2024, they took another step in growing their farm by opening their farm market. The market was created not only to share what they grow, but also to provide a place for other Kentucky Proud farmers, producers, food vendors, and small businesses to share their products with the community.

Today, Hardesty Farms remains a true family effort, with Nicholas, Bethany, their daughters, and their team all playing a part in keeping the farm growing. At the heart of it all is a love for agriculture, family, and the community that has supported them along the way.

Day 3 of All in for Ag Education Week! Today’s spotlight is: ✨Sipes Family Farm✨

Sipes Family Farm

The Sipes family farm began more than 100 years ago on a small piece of land and has grown into a lasting family legacy built on hard work, dedication, and a love for agriculture.

In 1963, at just 16 years old, Jerry Sipes began farming alongside his dad. In his 20s, Jerry purchased the farm and continued building the foundation for what would become a multigenerational family operation. He has lived in the same farmhouse his entire life, where he and his wife, Mary Jean, raised their five children.

Today, Jerry and his son, Billy, continue the family tradition, farming more than 1,500 acres of corn, soybeans, and hay. They also raise approximately 100 head of brood cows.

Farming isn’t just a job for the Sipes family; it is a way of life that has been passed down from one generation to the next. The values of hard work, family, and commitment to the land remain at the heart of everything they do.

When Jerry isn’t farming, you can usually find him at a tractor pull, where his family proudly serves as the crew for his tractor, Family Driven. The name couldn’t be more fitting. For the Sipes family, farming and family have always gone hand in hand.

From a small piece of land more than a century ago to the operation it is today, Sipes Family Farm is a story of generations working together, honoring the past, and carrying the family legacy into the future.

Today is Day 2 of All in for Ag Education Week!! Today’s spotlight is: ✨Sandy Hill Farms✨

The Story of Sandy Hill Farms

In 1974, a dream took root in the heart of Meade County. Howard Stull, alongside his wife, Janet, purchased nearly 500 acres of farmland and began building what would become not only a thriving family farm, but a lasting legacy. Through years of hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering love for the land, Howard and Janet transformed their dream into a reality, one that continues to grow with each generation.

Together, Howard and Janet raised five children Staci, Jamie, Amie, Jeremy, and Amanda. Their family has since grown to include 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, creating a legacy that extends far beyond the acres they farm.

From the time they were old enough to lend a helping hand, sons Jamie and Jeremy worked alongside their father, learning the value of hard work and the responsibility that comes with caring for the land. They followed Howard step for step, gaining not only the skills of farming but also an appreciation for the traditions, determination, and family values that make agriculture so meaningful.

Today, Sandy Hill Farms remains a fully operational cattle and crop farm, producing to***co, soybeans, corn, and hay. The farm continues to be a true family operation, with Jamie and Tina and their children playing an important role in the day-to-day work that keeps the farm moving forward.

And if you find Howard out on the farm, there is a good chance you will find Jamie, Cale, and Jonathan close by his side. That is the beauty of Sandy Hill Farms, the work is shared, the knowledge is passed down, and the family remains at the center of it all.

The Stull family is deeply rooted in Meade County agriculture. From early-morning farm chores and long days in the fields to involvement in Meade County 4-H livestock programs, agriculture has become more than a way of life.. it is a part of who they are.

For more than five decades, Sandy Hill Farms has represented hard work, family, faith in the future, and a deep love for the land. What Howard and Janet began in 1974 continues today through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

And as the Stull family looks toward the future, they look forward to seeing the next generations grow, learn, and carry the Sandy Hill Farms legacy forward just as those before them did.
