The world is a devastatingly sad place sometimes. Remember, nature is accessible to all people. Regardless of income or stature.
Get outside!!! Pine cones, peanut butter and a little bird seed, thats all ya need. Hang a few out your backdoor and you’ll be amazed at what you see. Who knows what we can do together if we try. Finger Lakes Forest School 2026 here we come!!

Staying relevant is important. Not letting your dreams slip away is also important. Dark times fall on us all. But remember the sun also rises. Theres beauty in the night sky and in a coyotes howl. Maybe together we can make a brighter future. Dogbane is still growing. Hickory is always great for bows. The land will always hold secrets we cannot begin to imagine. Someday if the creator sees fit Finger Lakes Forest School may pass on knowledge again. Thanks to all that continue to support our school. There may be some offerings this summer.

The finger-lakes are such a naturally diverse area. Filled with plants, seeds and trees cultivated by native people of our region. Finger-lakes forest school, located in Branchport Ny hopes for the continued support of our local community. Tho we are currently suspending programming thru the winter. We hope that a return in the springtime will be welcomed and enjoyed by adults and children alike. Thank-you for all the support of our community so far. And we hope to be educating our region soon.

☀️PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT!☀️

After-School Adventures

What better way to decompress from the school day than spending time in nature? During this program, your child can expect to have time to relax, explore and have fun! With so much of the school day being structured, we will create an environment with options for your child to choose from. Some of these activities may include:

🍁group games
🍁crafting with natural materials
🍁plant identification
🍁fire building and tending
🍁cooking projects
🍁free-play

Dates and Times: 3:45-6pm on Mondays & Tuesdays through 10/2/23-12/19/23, No program on: 10/9 (Fall Break)
Location: 2347 Second Milo Rd Penn Yan, NY 14527
Ages: 6-12
Price: For both Monday and Tuesday, $300 per participant and $250 for siblings
For one day (Monday or Tuesday), $200 per participant, $150 for siblings

Thoughts after our first session of Saturdays in the Woods-

🍁Keuka Lake State Park is beautiful and we are so grateful to have access to such a spectacular body of water.
🍁No-Man’s Beach should be renamed to Lobster Beach (if you were there, you know why!).
🍁Building forts and combing the shore for unique lake stones are good for the soul.
🍁How cool it is to see a great blue heron perched in a tree!
🍁And how lucky Jesse and I feel to be creating a life doing what we love. Thank you to everyone who has helped make that possible.
