Cole Roland ’18 has officially signed with the Rangers and been assigned to the Hub City Spartanburgers, continuing a journey built on talent, grit, and perseverance. From starring as a two-sport athlete at Thayer to competing in the ACC and grinding through independent baseball, Cole has never stopped working for moments like this.

A perfect day in Cape Cod Bay for Thayer Middle School’s 6th grade whale watching trip ☀️🌊🐋
Students saw at least five humpback whales, including a mother and calf, along with seals and countless jellyfish. The whales circled the boat for hours while feeding beneath the surface — an incredible opportunity to witness marine wildlife up close.
According to the crew, this was one of the best wildlife days of the season!

Thayer alum Kelly Amonte-Hiller ’92 led Northwestern to the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship, earning her ninth national title as head coach and 11th overall national championship.
From standout student-athlete at Thayer to one of the most accomplished figures in lacrosse history, Amonte-Hiller continues to embody what it means to be known, connected, and prepared.

In continuance of a long-held Academy tradition, students, faculty, and staff gathered today, Friday, May 22, for Memorial Chapel. Together, we honored the sacrifice of 33 Thayer alumni who gave their lives while serving our country.
This Memorial Day, we remember their courage, service, and enduring legacy with gratitude and respect. We also extend our sincere thanks to all those who are currently serving in our armed forces today, whose commitment continues to protect our country.
From script to stage 🎭✨
Our Thayer Middle School 8th graders wrapped up their “Theatre for Young Audiences” class with a special performance for the kindergarteners at Hollis Elementary! Earlier this term, students visited Hollis to learn how kindergarteners play and use their imaginations, then used those experiences to help create an original production inspired by the Froggy book series by Jonathan London.
Students spent the term writing, directing, acting, choreographing, and composing music for a performance created especially for their kindergarten buddies. What a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and imagination!

As the NCAA Division I Lacrosse Championship weekend arrives, two members of the Thayer community are once again competing on the sport’s biggest stage.
On the men’s side, Thayer alum Teddy Lally ’25 is helping lead the University of Notre Dame in the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Final Four.
On the women’s side, Thayer alum Kelly Amonte-Hiller ’92 continues to build one of the greatest coaching legacies in college athletics. As head coach of Northwestern University women’s lacrosse, she is widely regarded as one of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport and has led Northwestern to multiple national championships and helped redefine women’s lacrosse at the collegiate level.
The presence of both Teddy Lally and Kelly Amonte-Hiller in this year’s NCAA Final Four highlights the extraordinary impact Thayer alumni continue to have, from rising student-athletes to legendary coaches competing for national championships.
