🚨WARRIOR STORE ANNOUNCEMENT!🚨 The Visit Brainerd Gift Store will be closing their retail space in a few weeks. This means the Warrior Store will need to pivot. Once we know our on-going plans - we will announce it here. In the meantime - mark your calendar for the Warrior Worn and Warrior Store pop-up sale at at the Washington Educational Services Building (WESB) on Wednesday, August 26th from 10am-6pm and again on Thursday, August 27th from 7am-12pm. This sale will be held in the WESB gym. Shoppers will enter from Pine Street - follow the signs!

A HUGE thank you goes out to Visit Brainerd for their enormous support of BPSF and our schools over the years. Since 2020, Visit Brainerd has sponsored the Warrior Store by providing a retail space to sell spirit wear. BPSF is so grateful to have been part of your story and success. 💙

Long time Brainerd Public Schools Foundation supporter and volunteer, Joey Halvorson, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS. In 2023, Joey established a Legacy Scholarship Fund. Joey, a Brainerd Public Schools Class of 1961 graduate, was an academic leader in her class and a pioneer when it came to women's athletics. It was important for her to support future generations of women make their academic dreams a reality.

LAST CALL! Does this heat have you sticking in doors - doing some closet clean out? Drop off your gently used Warrior Gear at WESB by 7/31!

WESB is open this summer M-F 7am to 3pm.

BPSF is currently collecting gently used Warrior gear for our Warrior Worn initiative. This effort raised nearly $3k for our school pantries last year! Drop boxes are available in all school buildings now through May 15, and at the Washington Educational Services Building through June 30.

The Brainerd Public Schools Foundation had the honor of awarding nearly $250k in scholarships to Brainerd Public Schools' Seniors on Wednesday, 5/20. We moved this event to the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts for the first time and we were very pleased! BPSF also helped to award nearly $150k in community scholarship awards, and recognized over $1M in Military awards! CONGRATULATIONS to the Class of 2026! As a Bronze-level Warrior Club sponsor, Lexington Manufacturing has the option to direct $500 toward either a scholarship or a grant. This year, they chose to support a grant for the BHS Business Education program.

The program, taught by Landon Brainerd, offers a wide range of courses including Entrepreneurship, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Computer Applications, CIS Accounting, CIS Intro to Business, and Personal Finance. In addition, students gain valuable real-world experience through work-based learning courses such as Work Seminar and Work Experience, which connect classroom learning to part-time jobs and internships.

This program provides outstanding opportunities for students of ISD 181, helping them build practical skills, explore career paths, and prepare for success beyond high school.
