We're Shorei Ryu Karate Studios, and we've been a premier karate and martial arts school in Bradley, IL, since 2022. We specialize in Okinawan karate for youth and adults, competitive training, and self-defense. We offer training, sparring, tournaments, martial arts weapons training, kickboxing, group lessons, special events, and more.

We're proud to prepare our students for national and international tournaments, both of which we’re heavily involved in. Dojo closure announcement
NO CLASSES TODAY
Sadly, the dojo will be closed today.Due to the coming possible inclement weather.
I wanted to personally apologize for having to close as much as we have lately As I know, some parents are starting to question.
As you all know, when the tornadoes hit our area last time, 4 of our vehicles were destroyed in the parking lot... And we've had a few heavy storms since then that has caused damage in the area.I believe as of late this area has been a target for a lot of recent storms And I admit I have been a little reluctant on opening the dojo, some days due to the safety and travel of students getting to and from class.
So now of course, once we close the dojo, the storms will probably end up passing us.And we could have been open, but I would rather take caution and not get our students stuck in the middle of a hailstorm or something like that
So I take all of the blame, but please understand my reluctance and caution... It is absolutely not because we don't want to hold class.Nothing would make us more happy to be able to see your students and train them and get them closer to black belt.

Class optional tonight due to storms and tornado watch but we do have a new roof but the dumpster and roofing materials are still in the lot so parking will be difficult. And with the warnings put akd our weather history as if late , we understand if you practice from h9me today. Many have already called in. But hopefully no more leaks. Thanks everyone
