Attention Students: For those interested in teaching Early Level Grades PK-4 and Special Education, please note the following.

If you major and complete our Special Education PK-12 program and become certified to teach, you will be able to add on an Early Level certification by completing the associated certification exams. You will then be dual-certified for both Early Level Grades PK-4 and Special Education Grades PK-12. Please note that this does not work in reverse; you are not able to complete the Early Level program and "add on" a Special Education certification through testing alone. Students interested in both options are strongly encouraged to speak with their academic advisor to consider the requirements. This pathway is strongly recommended as it provides a valuable opportunity to expand your certification and increase your flexibility to support a wider range of learners and teaching opportunities.
