"Play It Forward" is the new name of my piano studio and is also my Ohio Music Teacher's Federation club name. It's a play on words of the popular slogan, "Pay It Forward". They both essentially mean the same thing. Of course, "'Pay it Forward' means when someone does something nice for you, you would then 'pay it forward' by doing something nice for someone else. When I was stressing out about finding a name for my piano club, I thought about my current and former students. They all have been eager to learn to play the piano but so many of them are 'Playing it Forward' by using their talents and musical gifts to enrich the lives of others. They do this by playing special music at their church, playing keyboard on their church worship teams, performing at area nursing homes, playing in jazz and marching band and sharing their music with family and friends. Isn't this a perfect name? I am humbled, honored and blessed to be able to teach these great students. Here's to a new year of "Playing It Forward!
