Among the amazing trips our students took at the annual end-of-year Interim Quest was an unforgettable journey to the Galápagos Islands! From cultural exchanges to hands-on research in Tortuga Bay, students explored the connection between conservation, sustainability, and daily life on the islands.
They encountered incredible wildlife, including blue-footed bo***es, marine iguanas, sea lions, reef sharks and Galápagos penguins, while snorkeling through crystal-clear waters and around dramatic lava rock formations.
This incredible experience blended science, culture, conservation, and adventure, leaving our Falcons with lifelong memories and an even deeper appreciation for our planet.

Two former Falcons are national champs! Matt Vara (Class of 2023) and Annesley Flint (Class of 2025) helped the University of Tampa and Florida Southern, respectively, capture NCAA Division II lacrosse titles in late May!

SSES welcomes Spencer Wright as its new Boys Lacrosse Coach. Wright was an All-American at Syracuse University, where he competed in four national title games and won championships in 2000 and 2002. He played six seasons in Major League Lacrosse with the Rochester Rattlers and Boston Cannons before beginning his coaching career. Wright won four league crowns and placed more than a dozen players at Division I, II and III schools as coach at Ethical Culture Fieldston School (N.Y.). He also served as an assistant at Manhattan College and has recently been instrumental in building the Boys National Team at IMG Academy.

As part of the fourth grade STEAM class, students collaborated on new playground designs - including larger slides, challenging monkey bars, and sturdy swing sets. Their ideas are super innovative and creative. Maybe we'll see them become a reality someday!
