BHS Class of '94 Reunion

BHS Class of '94 Reunion

Share

As we all are busy with families, careers and many live out of town, we want to know what works to make this an awesome time for everyone!

We are looking for suggestions on dates, times and places for a get-together in Bradenton. We aren't imagining anything fancy, just a fun time to share old memories. We can do a family friendly day and then a night for the big kids to show their best 90's moves! Please feel free to invite, add or tag anyone to the reunion page. Any suggestions and ideas are welcome and if you'd like to help, please do!

A request from Coach Green (former BHS soccer coach)
A few years ago, I asked alumni for help and I do so again. Since Bayshore is a Title I school with 91% of our kids below the poverty rate it is extremely hard for these kids to be able to pay for their insurance to be able to play soccer. We have 40 players between JV and varsity soccer and most cannot pay and Bayshore does not have the funds to pay for them. Coach Walker, the new head coach, has approached me for help and thus the message. We have to raise $1500 or $75.00 per player.
If any of you know of any corporations that might help or even if you could individually that would be great. As it stands right now we will have to cancel 3 varsity games and 2 JV games next week if we can't get these kids insurance. Any help would be a god send. Thank you, Dan

until further notice!!!!

We have decided to move the reunion to a date that better suites everyone's timing. We will still meet for drinks same time/place just no DJ and less fluff. If you'd like to stop by for a drink out on the deck, please feel free.

We will set up a time/date closer to the holidays possibly that everyone can enjoy!

If I have already been in contact with you personally, I have also sent an inbox message to you as well!

Take care folks! :-)

Like this post for end of July. We'll have an adults night out and then a family event, perhaps a beach day.

Hi everyone! Looks like we'll make the 20 yr reunion low key and have a more extravagant 25 yr. We can meet either the end of June or July. Like this post for June.

OR We could meet for hors d'oeuvres & drinks (cash bar) at a local hotel on Friday (casual) and then dinner on Saturday at same venue with DJ. The price will be around $100/person for both nights. Thoughts?

One suggestion would be to hold it during a long weekend during football season. Thursday could be a alumni only mixer, Friday attending the game with our families, maybe getting introduced at the game. Saturday could be the spouse and alumni reunion party and Sunday a family day. Keep in mind that a summer beach day is uncomfortably hot and humid and may make for some cranky adults.
If we look into holding it at a hotel, the Hyatt for example, we could utilize rooms for out of town guests, restaurants/banquet rooms, if we decide on dinner/dancing, the pool, the bar, etc.

We also need to know what people are interested in doing. Do you want uber causal? Do you want dinner? Dancing? Should we do a price per head? Should it be pay as you go? There are benefits to both. Securing a location will need a payment due before and a head count. If a dinner is included, all monies will all need to be collected before if we are going through a hotel.

It all depends on what everyone's idea of our 20th reunion should be like. Summer is almost here, the planning is only in the 'idea' phase. We need some input people!!

What month is homecoming usually? That may be an idea, and will give us some time to plan.

One last idea; a cruise out of Florida for the weekend. A former alumni friend is a travel agent and can get extremely good deals on cruises for groups. Family friendly, do as you wish, food included, we could supply the transportation to the port from Bradenton or out-of-towners can just fly in and out from the port city. It will be more like a real vacation too. It ends up being >$200/person. I'll gladly look into it to be exact.

Thoughts?
