🚨The band needs our help!

On Saturday, October 24, Manatee High School will host the Marching Band Music Performance Assessment for schools across Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte counties. More than 1,500 band students and thousands of spectators will visit our campus throughout the day.

By managing the event, including concessions and parking, our band program has the opportunity to raise a significant amount of money. In past years, this event has generated more than $15,000 for our program. These funds support our marching, jazz, and concert bands by helping pay for equipment purchases and repairs, guest instructors, new music, registration fees, transportation, and many other program expenses.

There are numerous volunteer positions and times available, and family members and other supporters are welcome to volunteer as well. The only prerequisite is filling out the MCSD Level 1 Clearance Volunteer App which only take a couple of minutes.

If possible, please also attend our volunteer planning and training meeting on Tuesday, October 13 at 7:00 PM in the Manatee High School Band Room.

This fundraiser benefits every student and every ensemble in our band program. Your gift of just a few hours can help provide resources and opportunities for our students throughout the entire school year.

We want this event to be successful for the band program, so please consider signing up!

‼️Update to the seating for tonight! We are going to be joining the current band in their block!! Please be patient as everyone gets settled in. Also, remember water bottles can go onto the cart and they will be delivered after pregame. Go Canes Go!

🙂Please remember that we are guests with the band tonight. While in the stands, we will be following the lead of the band director, current drum majors, and current band during quarters 1, 2, and 4. They will be calling the tunes, as well as when to play during those times. Please do not try to go rogue in making calls on your own. This only causes confusion and frustration and we want tonight to be fun for everyone! Be the awesome band people we are and make tonight amazing!! Go Canes Go!

🌀 TONIGHT! Please be in the auditorium at 5pm so we can head out to rehearsal in the stadium. We will practice pregame and then after the current band practices their halftime show, we will practice joining them on the field for Dance to the Music. We will head back to the auditorium for a group picture and around 6:40, the current band will join us to run through stands tunes again before lining up for march over. Go Canes Go!

🎵 We didn’t make it to the field tonight because of the rain but we had an awesome combined music rehearsal! One last reminder to print your music (if you haven’t already) and don’t forget your flip folders tomorrow!

🎺 Please don’t forget to bring your own instrument! The only instruments that will be provided are drumline, and sousaphones, mellophones, and baritones (if you let us know you needed one).
