AWESOME AWARDS:
Overall female and male divisions will be awarded RRCA State Champion medals and Fleet Feet/New Balance gift cards as follows: $100 to Overall, $70 each to these masters divisions - Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), Senior Grand Masters (60+), Veteran Grand Master (70+).
Age group medals will be awarded to winner in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

BEAUTIFUL COURSE:
The 5 mile course at Emerson Point Preserve is a scenic adventure on a combination of hard shell-packed winding trails and paved road. From the course you will see a variety of native ecosystems including beaches, lagoons, salt marshes, mangrove swamps, tropical hardwood hammocks, and coastal strands.

GREAT CAUSE:
The Bradenton Runners Club has hosted this event since 2000 and the proceeds fund the BRC scholarship program which benefits local distance runners planning to attend college or summer running camp.

But they are doing registration on race roster this year.

MHS is hosting the Bradenton Runners Club XC Invitational this Saturday, 10/8 at GT Bray Park 7:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the amphitheater. We need a few more adult volunteers to work on the course directing the runners. Instructions will be given. Please contact Rae Ann at 941-586-9375 today if you are able to volunteer. Thank you.

Ty Barclay and Paul Lespasio preparing for the FHSAA 4A state finals on Saturday up at the University of Florida. Ty qualified by winning Region 2 girls shotput and placing 3rd in Discus. Paul placed 3rd in the 3200M breaking the school record!

Very proud of our throwers who performed awesome at our home Hurricane Invite on Friday. Many Personal bests, 1st places and gritty performances. They brought home some serious hardware! Our sprints, distance and jumpers all did great as well and are showing great growth as we near the championship season..

To all the HS seniors experiencing the Monday blues thinking “you just ran your last xc race ever” remember:

1) according to google: In the United States, there are approximately 5,300 colleges and universities (maybe not all these have athletics but that’s a big number). Five different division levels: NCAA Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, NAIA and NJCAA. You never know how big of an impact you could make on their team and how big of an impact that team can make on you.

2) if your state championships didn’t go as planned, one race does not defy who you are as a person or athlete.

3) you’re not going to peak in HS. Trust yourself, enjoy the sport & don’t give up after loving it for four years in HS.

4) how many schools recruiting you & how much they are offering does not defy how successful you can be. Know you are worth more than letters & numbers.

5) I’m proud of you.
