This week was filled with lots of activities! Cross Country is continuing to show improvement, and our athletes are making great strides (no pun intended😄 ). We had Back to School Night, a Tailgate, balloon cars in TSA and engagement in civics class. Additionally, our art classes produced some amazing products to display on our walls.

The Sheriff's Office and BPD has completed its investigation of the tip submitted through the FortifyFL app and determined that the reported threat was not credible.

While this situation has been resolved, it serves as an important reminder that making threats, whether intended as a joke or otherwise, is a serious matter. Such actions can cause fear and disruption to the school community and may result in significant disciplinary and legal consequences.

We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement and for those who report potential safety concerns. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we encourage everyone to continue communicating when they see or hear something concerning.

Thank you for your partnership and support.

Last night, we received a tip through the FortifyFL app regarding a potential threat to Sugg Middle School. As soon as the report was received, we began working closely with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, which is actively investigating the matter.

At this time, there is no information indicating an immediate threat to our campus. Based on the information available, school operations are expected to continue as normal today, September 25, 2026. Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased law enforcement presence on campus today.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We appreciate the partnership of our families and encourage students to continue reporting any safety concerns to a trusted adult, school administrator, or through the FortifyFL app. Reports made through FortifyFL app help ensure that potential threats are investigated quickly and appropriately.

Should there be any significant updates, we will communicate with you promptly.

Thank you for your continued support and trust as we work together to maintain a safe learning environment for all students.

Fifteen students with perfect attendance were selected to receive free tickets to watch the Bayshore Bruins take on Hawthorne High School last Friday night. We are truly appreciative of the Bruins for helping develop a strong partnership that benefits all students. Bayshore High School School District of Manatee County
