Congratulations Braden River High School!

Congratulations to Paige, a Braden River Elementary student, whose original play was selected for the Florida Studio Theatre’s Young Playwrights Festival!
Through this incredible program, students learn the art of storytelling, writing their own plays, exploring their creativity, and seeing their words come to life on stage. Paige’s play, about a determined chicken dreaming of flight and adventure, captured hearts and earned a spot in this year’s performances. 🐔✈️

Last week, GROW Mentors gathered for a two-day experience centered on learning, collaboration, and connection to strengthen their support for new educators.

With a mentor in every school, this group plays an essential role in welcoming and guiding those who are new to teaching or new to our School District.

They supported over 350 educators during the 2025-2026 school year.

We are grateful for their dedication to helping every educator feel supported, connected, and ready to succeed.

For more than 100 years, Manatee Elementary School has inspired generations of students, empowered lifelong learners, and created memories that continue to shape the future.

Entrusted with preserving the school's rich legacy, Centennial Historian Jahkori Dopwell Hall carefully reviewed decades of Manatee Elementary yearbooks, gathering photographs from across the years to create a special slideshow that captured the enduring spirit of Mustang Pride.

The Centennial Gala Reception opened with heartfelt remarks from Michelle Grimsley, who reminded new teachers of the importance of honoring the school's history, saying, “Please don't ever forget the legacy of Manatee Elementary... do not let that legacy die.”

During the Honoree Awards Ceremony, several dignitaries, alumni, former and current staff members were recognized for the lasting impact they have made on Manatee Elementary through their years of service and dedication. Awards such as Mustang for Life, Distinguished Alumni, Heart of Hospitality, Footprints of Excellence, and others celebrated the unique contributions of individuals who have helped shape the school's legacy.

More than a commemoration of the past, this centennial celebration revived cherished memories, honored generations of excellence, and ensured that the legacy of Manatee Elementary will continue to inspire a new generation of Mustangs for years to come.
