My Bio

My name is Ramon Ocano (Ray) and I have taught music for over 28 years! I studied music education at Arizona State University where my major was Voice and was a member of the Sundevil Marching Band! I currently hold two Bachelor's degrees and a Master's in Business Administration.

I have taught music in religious, private and public school settings. I have taught Jr. High choir and orchestra. I also taught band at the elementary school level for many years before moving to a Jr. High. I currently teach K-12 Music and Band at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. I have been a church music director and was the Northern California Creative Arts & Music Director for several years in my denomination. I also currently play piano and sing at my church in Bradenton.

I tell people that my goal is not to make professional musicians, but to help students fall in love with music and the arts!

I have taught 1000's of students over the past 28 years! Some have gone on to play in their local community orchestras and bands! I'm very proud of each one of my students and very passionate about seeing them succeed with their music goals!

I have three amazing adult children who are also amazing musicians! They are my world!
