We will have our Annual Texas Grand Session and conferral of the Order of the Sword of Bunker Hill at Baylor Lodge located 722 Washington Ave. Waco, TX 76701 on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at 3:00 PM. All Grand Officers are requested to attend. All Master Masons are welcome to attend. San Antonio was Hollywood before Hollywood...
The Star Film Ranch was a silent film studio located in Padre Park, San Antonio, Texas, along the banks of the San Antonio River and facing Mission San Jose. The ranch was home to a branch of the Star Film Company, which was founded by Georges Méliès, the inventor of special effects and A Trip to the Moon.
The ranch produced more than 70 silent films, including some of the first Westerns shot with authentic Texas scenery. The studio also made comedies starring well-known celebrities of the time, such as Francis Ford and Edith Storey. To give their Westerns more authenticity, the studio hired local ranchers and cowboys. The films were usually one reel long, with an average running time of 15 minutes, and only three of the 70 films made in San Antonio are known to have survived.
In April 1911, the Star Film Company moved to California, building stages in Santa Paula across from Sulphur Mountain Springs, where the troupe rented rooms.

COMING SOON! The original banner of the Grand Lodge of the Republic of Texas will return to the Library & Museum! The official presentation by The Chancellor Robert R Livingston Masonic Library will take place on Saturday, March 4th during the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐬 annual Alamo Observance.

The observance will take place on Alamo Plaza beginning at 8am and is open to the public. Please check the Grand Lodge of Texas calendar for the most current event schedule."
