Lamb supplies remain tight worldwide with the best quality replacement wool ewes in Australia fetching almost $500 AUD.

Tight sheep and lamb supply is shaping Australia's sheep industry, with slaughter numbers significantly lower than a year ago and recent widespread rainfall likely to influence producer decision-making this spring.

If you're interested in helping us develop an integrated GPS tracking, virtual fence, EID sheep and LGD production system that producers can use and also work on a very scenic ranch, this might be the job for you.

This employee will work closely with the Red Bluff Ranch Manager and Livestock operations management in carrying out day-to-day agricultural operations of approximately 12,000 acres of agricultural land, facilities, and livestock (cattle, sheep, and horses) used in the
research and educational activities conducted at the Red Bluff Research Facility (Norris, MT), BART Farm and Fort Ellis. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to develop their skills in sheep production management.

It's almost ram sale week and pens are set for the Montana Ram and Ewe Sale in Miles City next Wednesday and Thursday. A big thank you to the Miles City Community College Rodeo team for helping set up. The country looks as good as I've seen it in a while. Lamb prices are holding and there's good optimism in the industry. Safe travels to everyone next week as they attend sales in the region.

Fall is in air. MAES Red Bluff ewes moved to new pastures, processing weaned lambs at Ft Ellis, prepping rams for the Montana Ram Sale and doing pre winter maintenance on the camp. Hoping the forecast rain this week freshens the feed up going into bucking.
