The Montana Department of Livestock has updated its emergency order aimed at preventing the spread of New World Screwworm (NWS) into the state. The revised order establishes stricter import requirements for livestock and other animals entering Montana from Texas, New Mexico, and other designated restricted areas.

Animals originating from infested zones must meet additional treatment, inspection, identification, and permitting requirements before entering Montana. State officials say the measures are intended to protect Montana's livestock industry from the destructive pest.
