Mrs. Trevino created this incredible Water Bar for her 4th grade class, complete with fun flavorings, custom straws and stickers, and even some tasty gummies.


Safe to say… the students were very motivated to drink their water that day! 🙌

Gallatin High students from the choir and orchestra visited Hyalite as part of their “Music in the Schools” program! 🎶


Our students loved it! At Hyalite 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity to sign up for choir and in 5th grade students may choose to participate in Orchestra or Band. 🎷


It was fun for the students to get to see these kids performing on another level. Thanks Gallatin High School for showcasing your skills and for stopping by! ❤️

Reading is such an important part of our curriculum at Hyalite and the staff taking the time to make it fun really fosters a love for reading amongst students.

This week at Hyalite is Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Read Across America week!


In honor of this, Hyalite teachers and staff have been working extra hard to make it fun! Mrs. D’Angelo our reading specialist dressed up as Cat in the Hat! The staff is also going to get on the intercom throughout the week and tell the school to DEAR (drop everything and read)! The photos above are from this morning session of DEAR.


Lastly, we also have Read Across America Dress Up Days! Monday (wear crazy or fun socks), Tuesday (wear something green) Wednesday (wear your clothes backwards inside out or mismatched) Thursday is wear a hat or red and white striped clothing) and Friday (wear a shirt from a place you’ve been or want to go, or college gear!

Esta semana en Hyalite celebramos el cumpleaños de Dr. Seuss y la semana de Read Across America.


En honor a esto, los maestros y el personal de Hyalite han estado trabajando muy duro para hacerlo divertido. La Sra. Mrs. D’Angelo, nuestra especialista en lectura, se disfrazó de Cat in the Hat. El personal también va a usar el intercomunicador durante la semana para decirle a la escuela que haga DEAR (¡dejar todo y leer!). Las fotos de arriba son de la sesión de DEAR de esta mañana.


Por último, también tenemos los días de disfraces de Read Across America: lunes (usar calcetines locos o divertidos), martes (usar algo verde), miércoles (usar la ropa al revés, del revés o combinada de forma desigual), jueves (usar sombrero o ropa roja y blanca a rayas) y viernes (usar una camiseta de un lugar al que hayas ido o quieras ir, ¡o ropa universitaria!).

WHY DO WE PACK THE SACK?


The Bozeman Schools Foundation works with students, families, and staff at BSD7 schools
to raise awareness of, and funds for, students in the Gallatin Valley that are facing hunger
and food insecurity. Funds raised through Pack the Sack are donated to HRDC’s Gallatin
Valley Food Bank and support their KidsPack and KidsPantry programs.


These programs provide essential nutritional support to elementary, middle, and high
school students at 34 schools throughout Southwest Montana. Last semester alone, GVFB
distributed over 7,600 KidsPack Bags to students and families in our community. They
also stocked food pantries at middle and high schools, allowing students to pick out food
during the school day for a snack or to take home.


With the rising cost of living across Gallatin Valley, the support we can provide for hungry
students through Pack the Sack is even more important. Pack the Sack also provides a
chance for BSD7 students to help students just like themselves and to see how much we
can do together for our community.


Last year, when the pennies, dimes, and dollars
donated by BSD7 students were added together, we were able to provide $27,500 for the
KidsPack and KidsPantry programs.
$8 will provide three meals and snacks to support a student over the weekend, and every
donation helps.
