Enjoy your long Labor Day weekend, everyone, and if you are an education major, have some ice cream when you come back on Tuesday.

Let's kick off the semester with an ice cream social! Please join the Aspiring Educators of MSU on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6:30pm for an ice cream social in Reid Hall 201.

All are welcome - our goal is to support future educators (and those who may be curious about becoming future educators) from all disciplines.

Interested in adding a PreK–12 Special Education endorsement to your Montana teaching license?

If you already hold a teaching license, you may be able to begin coursework at Montana State University this fall as a non-degree-seeking student.

There’s still time to join us!

EDSP 434-801: Behavioral Principles of Learning & Teaching
• Online, synchronous course
• Designed for educators working toward a PreK–12 Special Education endorsement
• Co-convened with undergraduate students pursuing special education licensure
• Opportunities to learn alongside and connect with educators from across Montana
• Taught by Dr. Leslie Rogers

The course introduces practical approaches to understanding and supporting student behavior, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), data collection, and positive, evidence-based supports.

Classes began August 29, but interested educators are encouraged to reach out now about enrolling and joining us for our next class on September 3.

Interested or have questions about whether this pathway might be right for you? Contact Leslie Rogers at [email protected].

Catapalooza is a walking event, and today is perfect walking weather, a shady 70°. When you get out there, take a turn toward the east door of Reid Hall to see the Department of Education table. That will give you a quiet moment out of the main flow of traffic and an opportunity to pick up a flyer, a sticker, a chocolate star, and maybe a career.
