All sessions will be recorded, so you can revisit the material at your own pace or catch up easily if you miss a class.
Across the two‑month block, we’ll cover essential techniques for visualising form, understanding proportion, creating depth, and communicating ideas clearly on paper. The goal is to help you build a reliable drawing toolkit that enhances your creative practice, whether you’re designing jewellery, objects, or simply wanting to improve your visual thinking.
No special equipment is required. You only need a pencil, paper, a rubber eraser, and a ruler.
This course is supportive, accessible, and structured to help absolute beginners succeed. If you’ve ever felt intimidated by drawing, this is a welcoming place to start building skills that will serve you long after the course ends.

In this session, we’ll bring a ring design to life step by step, then move on to rendering a black‑and‑white diamond with depth and sparkle. This class is designed to be approachable, practical, and hands‑on.

Took some time this morning to get proper photos of this ring. Not bad, considering I haven’t touched a camera in a few years and don’t have a photo box.
I used cabochon sapphires and rose cuts because I wanted this to be a bit of a fidget ring. The smooth stones create a subtle texture and lend a touch of vintage charm.
The running thistle engraving honors a kilt pin I was given many years ago, adding that little bit of something special for me.
