Interfaith Clergy Network / Jewish Lifecycle Services

Interfaith Clergy Network / Jewish Lifecycle Services Established in 1971, the Interfaith Clergy Network is a group of seminary educated, compassionate, and highly experienced Jewish and Christian clergy.

Now over 50 years ago, Rabbi Shimon L. Berris, of blessed memory (2020) from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and his close friend and colleague, Reverend Justin Herbst, of blessed memory (2005), a Roman Catholic priest from Mount Holly, began to fulfill a mutual calling outside of the accepted institutional parameters of their individual faith communities. They recognized the opportunity to assist familie

s by co-officiating together at inter-religious life cycle celebrations and events. Since the inception of the Interfaith Clergy Network, our Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant clergy have officiated at thousands of Wedding ceremonies, Blessing, Naming, and Baptism ceremonies, Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations, and Memorial Services throughout the United States and in several other countries as well. Now directed by Cantor Neil A. Berris, our 23 current clergy associates are all seminary educated, with years of compassionate service and experience in synagogues, temples, parishes, congregations, and chaplaincies. With decades of pulpit, educational, youth and adult camping, and administrative experience, Cantor Berris is honored to offer your family his personal attention and sensitive approach in officiating at all life cycle rites and ceremonies of the Jewish faith, and together with any of our Christian colleagues or a priest, pastor, or minister, that you have chosen for your celebration.

ברוך דין האמת - Baruch Dayan HaEmet

With profound sadness and an abundance of love, I share with all my friends and colleagues the passing of our mother, Linda Berris, Bubbe of seven grandchildren, and great grandmother of four, this morning in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Mom’s graveside service and interment has been arranged for Sunday, August 9th, 11 AM at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY (Long Island).

Our families are most grateful for the compassion and personal care that Mom received over the past year as a resident of Silver Healthcare in Cherry Hill. The entire staff always made a supreme effort to insure her comfort and wellbeing.

May the life and memory of Linda Berris,

ליבה בת אלחנן יצחק ואיידל

always be remembered for a blessing. זכרונה לברכה

Beautiful Layla Shea Parver becomes a Bat Mitzvah at Haute Durvo in Roslyn on LI… can you believe it! ✡️🎈What an amazing setting for this fabulous young woman, most devoted student with her brother, Zachary (Bar Mitzvah at CitiField in 2024 ⚾️🏟️!) for several years in our Jewish Learning group, and loving daughter to her parents, Jarett and Courtney. Layla and Cantor Neil Berris led a very lively Kabbalat Shabbat and evening service, with our Bat Mitzvah chanting her Torah portion so perfectly and with great confidence. The main deck of the restored tall ship “Moshulu”⛵️, permanently moored at Penn’s Landing in Center City - Philadelphia, provided the historic setting for Jennifer and Shane’s twins, Logan Edward and Lauren Sophia to receive their Hebrew names… Lavi Zamir (Logan) and Leona Zimra (Lauren) from Cantor Neil Berris ✡️. Following their Naming, Fr. John Michael O’Sullivan ✝️ performed Logan and Lauren’s Christening in the warmth of a beautiful Spring morning embraced by family and many friends. Cantor Neil and Fr. John were so honored to reprise the ceremonies they had performed for big brother, Ryan Grant (2022) and big sister, Ashlyn Isabelle (2023). Mazal Tov and congratulations to this amazing family! 🎈🫶
