Hispanic Heritage Week at CHEC was a chance for our students to celebrate culture through music, traditions, and shared experiences. 💙

Students are given the opportunities to learn about the world around them while celebrating together as a community.

Every culture has something beautiful to share. 🌎💙

During Hispanic Heritage Week, we’d love to hear from you:
👇 What is one thing you love about your culture?

Today, our CHEC community joins together in remembrance of September 11.

We honor the lives lost, the families impacted, and the heroes who showed incredible courage and service.

May we continue teaching the next generation the importance of remembering our history and living with kindness, compassion, and unity.

We will never forget.

Using the Spanish Explorers of Florida Traveling Trunk from the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, students in Ms. Meyling’s History class explored the journey from Juan Ponce de León’s arrival in La Florida in 1513 through the founding of St. Augustine by Pedro Menéndez de Avilés in 1565.

The trunk brought the lesson to life with replica artifacts, maps, pictures, period clothing, and hands-on navigation tools like those once used by sailors. Students were able to examine the materials, dress as people from the time period, and participate in activities that helped them better understand what exploration and life in the 1500s may have been like.

These are the experiences that make learning memorable, and they are an important part of what makes a CHEC education so special. We are excited for all that our teachers and students will continue to explore this year!
